Editors and Writers discussion

No doubt you'll have plenty of takers on that request, but I think you're looking for feedback, not editing. Editors come in after a manuscript has been critiqued, rewritten, beta-read, rewritten, and rewritten again!
I offer feedback on the first 2500 words on my website and writers pay what it's worth to them, but at this stage that's probably not what you need.
Many of the working editors here want payment for their opinion (same as any professional like a doctor or computer tech) but there are places to get initial feedback for free.
One to check out will be the SHARE YOUR WORK forum on ABSOLUTE WRITE. That's the best writer's message board on the Internet. Many working pros contribute their time and expertise there, paying it forward.
You are expected to contribute to the community, so after making 50 posts of your own, you can put something up for critique/feedback. The fastest way to rack up posts is to give feedback to other writers.
I find giving feedback to others always improves my own writing!
It's FREE to join. They allow plenty of freedom to discuss things, but flame wars, spam, and trolls are not allowed. This makes it a very safe place for writers to hang out!

Again ,I suspect you need feedback from writers and readers, not an editor, not yet. Unless you're wanting to pay for developmental editing (not cheap and you get what you pay for) it's a good idea to explore other options first.
Good luck!

There's another forum on this site that might be a bit more help at this point. Head over to the Beta Readers forum and you'll find plenty of people who can give your work a read through and offer opinions on it. Good Luck!

Thank you so much for the offer! I sent you my e-mail address in a direct message.
Stories that deal with insanity have a particular fascination. I think they draw readers in by making them work to keep a grip on their own sense of reality. As a friend of mine said (about his ex, not about a novel, but still applicable here), "Insanity is terribly seductive."
Thank you for sharing your work!
Ruth

It sounds like you are looking for a substantive edit. That's where an editor will help you with your actual story, the plot, the character development, etc. I have an introductory rate for new authors of $0.0032 a word for substantive editing. I steeply discount for incoming authors, but I don't raise my rates too sharply!
If you, say, use beta readers and are happy with your story after you get it back to the point that you think you may only need a line edit (fluidity, readability, sentence and paragraph restructuring, repetitiveness, word usage, as well as the simpler copy edit), I also have steeply discounted rates for new authors, starting at $0.0024 a word for a series and $0.0030 for a stand alone novel.
Free samples of 2,500 words are available, email an attachment to drdemarse@gmail.com if you are interested.
Thank you,
Karlie
I would like to join this group. I am now writing a novel and hope to complete it soon. I am looking forward a Native English Speaker to look in to some chapters or parts and give me some opinion.
Kind Regards,
Sam
