Rachel (rachelmact) (hopefully this will post in the right place this time....)

Does anyone have this square, and if so, what are they planning to read? Because I'm a bit stumped!

I work in finance law, and would quite like to read something related to this / understand the EU more so I can understand the work the Govt is doing to reform Britains membership about the EU. (I'm a PA so don't need to know this stuff but would like to understand more what the lawyers do!) but I'm struggling to find lay-mans books! Alternatively something accessible relating to human rights law?

Or something completely different! If you have this category how have you interpreted it?

My colleagues have just started a tumblr to recommend books that are related to issues in the news: http://theresabookforthat.tumblr.com

Maybe you can find something there.

I don't have any suggestions about the UK/EU situation, but maybe one of our British listeners can help.

Lisa | 66 comments I've been stumped on this square too until a headline out today about Tom Selleck allegedly caught stealing water amid the severe drought in California. This immediately made me think of The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi. Maybe?

Jana | 1 comments Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town by Jon Krakauer. Deals with current issues in the media.

Between the World and Me by Ta-Nahesi Coates deals with the current state of race in America, which has been a big issue in the media lately.

Janet (justjanet) | 791 comments Between the World and Me would be a good choice (and it's short).
