What are you reading?

Currently I'm bopping between a few books, such as, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, The Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter), The Bad Beginning (Lemony Snickett), Sherlock Holmes: House of the Baskervilles and A Study in Silks (The Baskerville Affair #1).

Do you read while you knit and/or spin? If so, what's your "set up", to manage your knitting and book/tablet?

Daniel Griffin | 1 comments Hi everyone,

I don't read books as much as I should but I do listen to the, while knitting/crocheting as I think it is easier to do.

At the moment I am listening to If You Could See Me Now I have just started I'm about 2 chapters in and really enjoying it. After this I am going to start The Selection series.

I use audible to get the audio books and have a monthly subscription so if anyone has anything to recommend I would be interested in looking into those books.

I just got Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman, about 5 chapters in and it's fantastic so far.

Jeanne Shirk | 2 comments I'm on book 4 of the Outlander Series......on audible. Paperback of unknown....bubble gum reading when in the pool.

Cyndi (cyndi1717) | 3 comments Jeanne- I just finished book 4 of Outlander- what do you think so far? I love the series but find some books a bit slow to start with but about halfway through I just can't put them down.

My current reading: Mockingjay (hunger games final book), and my audiobook is from the Amelia Peabody series.

I find it easier to listen to a book while knitting. I tend to borrow hard copy books from the library, so unless they lay completely flat on a desk I find it hard to actually read while knitting.

Jeanne Shirk | 2 comments that sums it up.....and then when I go to watch the shows on TV....it's hard to capture the tones in the voices, etc. I think I like the audible better than the movies......well not all the movies parts...heheehehehee

I just finished Goblet of Fire and now I'm on to Order of the Phoenix. Any other knitters/crocheters participate in the house cup or thinking of joining? Sorting for the next term starts next week. I find it as a great way to keep me motivated.

Cyndi (cyndi1717) | 3 comments I was thinking of joining the house cup but honestly I'm still a bit confused about what it's all about!

here's a slideshow that might help. https://docs.google.com/presentation/... a good way to start is to ask to be a NQFY ( Not quite first year) the first time you play, so you can relax as you learn the ropes.

Cyndi (cyndi1717) | 3 comments Thanks Denise - I signed up, looks like a lot of fun!

I've also been meaning to read the HP books - loved the movies but just haven't got around to the books as yet!
