Time for Tippling
Sarah wrote: "I might have to go out and by a bottle of wine especially."Might? Might?
Are the stores open yet?
Yes they are open. I've instructed my partner to get me a bottle while he's out but I think I will have to send him a reminder text to make sure he doesn't come back empty handed.
It will be soft drinks only for me. My illness and medication have made me really intolerant of alcohol :(
I'll join you in the morning with coffee and water to begin with. I slept over 12.5 hours today so hopefully I'll make an appearance before midday! We usually buy booze in bulk as it's easier, and tomorrow is the day as we have exhausted the supplies. Lexx is under instructions to do this as I will be reading.

Raising a teacup to you too Kazen :)
I'll be starting with some coffee probably...maybe iced tea. One of my books is an audio that I'll be listening to while commuting, so I have to be a responsible tippler. :)
Woohoo!! It's the weekend so I will be starting with coffee and then some tea or soda through out the day :-) Happy tippling everyone :-)

Fantasy readers, be careful! (or happy...)
I am starting with tea. I've just made one in fact. My partner came back with a bottle of Rose for me so I'm all sorted for tonight/tomorrow (unless my book has a lot of drinking, eating of dessert, travelling, winning, fighting or it makes me laugh).
I've got cereal and milk for now, and will then switch to water, tea, and lemonade. I've got some wine and a couple of bottles of stout for later. I think I'm good for food too. I found a dark chocolate almond blueberry bar for when I need a treat. I love blueberries in chocolate.
I'm starting out with pink lemonade, it's supposed to hit triple digits here today so ice with everything! :)
Is this an ongoing thing? I absolutely want to join, but don't really understand! Right now I have strawberry lemonade, but am hoping to graduate to wine or something else by dark. ;) I could actually kill a stranger for a gimlet, so maybe I should check if I have what I need...
You can drink anything and it's ongoing. If you have to scull a glass of water, so be it! If it's coffee or tea, it's still a drink. Our drinking games are for all flavours, circumstances and times of day here.
I'm drinking chilled apple juice right now (it was a hot day...) but will move to beer soon as it's already evening here. But first I have to start reading :)
I knew I should have bid on that "wine tree" at the fund raiser last night. Mind you, it went for $900 and I could buy double the bottles that were in it, and wine of my preference for a lot less. I'll be starting with water or tea since I'm not in the comfort of my own home.

That sounds pretty cool, excepting the price.
i almost panicked when I saw "plane, train, automobile" cause I'd be not stop drinking with the setting entirely on a boat, and then I realized "boat" isn't in the equation. Phew!

Man, my book The Bell Jar starts off with the main character taking a taxi. It looks like there will be lots of drinking due to transportation in this book. It is just too early to switch to something stronger here.
Connie wrote: "Man, my book The Bell Jar starts off with the main character taking a taxi. It looks like there will be lots of drinking due to transportation in this book. It is just too early to swit..."That book is seriously depressing so you may actually need a drink!
I've got tea brewing. Last night on Jimmy Kimmel a guest made him tea. Gunpowder Earl Grey with crushed mint. So I'm using some gunpowder tea with an Earl Grey teabag and one of mint. We'll see how it goes.
As I begun my book the heroe(?) was driving an helicopter. Also, tippling! My poison of choice is an 15 year old Drambuie (after lunch, autumn,I think is not extreme)(power go out, but I can still tippling...)
I've had my hot chocolate and a glass of water since the toppler started. Neither were for anything in my book though.
This morning I began my Toppler tippling extravaganza at my favorite coffee shop.I started The Haunting of Hill House on audio. At the beginning of the story, one of the characters travels by car, on a long journey, to Hill House. I took the opportunity to drink a delicious iced Nutella latte.
The alcoholic beverages will come later ;)

Nutella latte sounds amazing!
Kandice, I can't even explain its deliciousness. Pretty sure it's made with crack (and I don't think I even care, it's THAT yummy). - So addicting.
I've had some coffee, a smoothie called fluffernutter and now soda..and now I'm finally sitting down to read...a bit late :)
What's in a fluffernutter? Sounds intriguing.By the way I got autocorrected to fluffier udder! Haha.
Esther won a scholarship to her college and also won a prize for an all expense paid trip to NYC for a month to work at a fashion magazine. 2Esther and the eleven other winners at the fashion magazine drink martinis and vodka when they go out. 2
The twelve girls travel around the city by cab and occasionally they have limo service to big events. 5
Constantine drives Esther to the UN and around NYC in his ratty old car. 2
Her boyfriend gets TB, so she and her boyfriend's father drive to the hospital to see him. 1
Esther has ice cream for dessert at her benefactor's house. 1
Esther goes home by train, and her mom meets her at the station in the family car. 2
Her mom takes Esther to her doctors' appointments in the family car. 2
Esther is driven to a hospital by ambulance and her benefactor's limousine takes her to a private hospital. 2
Esther and Buddy have tea together. Double 2
Lots of drinking opportunities here! whew! I'll go with 21, but there are a lot more I just couldn't keep track of them all.
Auto correct is super hilarious at times at that just made me laugh out loud, Liz :-)The smoothie I had had banana, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, whip cream and possibly coffee?? in it :) we have a gas station here called Sheetz and they have made to order food and that is where I got the smoothie:) it was amazing and probably a million calories and totally unhealthy but delicious :)
Finished Cool Runnings Also finished my iced coffee with an Irish Creme shot.Double sip - Coach was drinking in a bar when his character was introduced.
Two sips - Sanka's team won the boxcar race. Runners won the running race.
Triple sip - Team went to a country Western Bar, plenty of drinking.
Single Sip - Team toasted one another with bottled Coca Cola. (Product placement?)
Single Sip - Team ate frozen popsicles while they took turns acclimating to cold weather inside the truck's freezer.
Another Sip
Three gulps - For funny moments. Lots of laughs...didn't count them all.
I'm going with

Let us know what you're drinking, and how often.
- Of course we have to drink with the characters in our books (double the amount if they’re drinking tea)
- Whenever someone wins something (doesn’t have to be an award)
- Whenever someone travels by plane, train, or automobile ☺
- Whenever someone has dessert (a good drink is a great dessert)
- Whenever someone gets injured from a weapon
- Whenever something makes you burst out laughing
