After last week's story, this one by Ellen Klages seems to have actually gone somewhere. I like how the time traveler is a female scientist that gets to go back in time to meet her female scientist hero. Even though their experiences as female scientists were over a half century apart, they still could confide in each other about how much of a man's world science still tends to be. Think not? Today's BBC headlines includes an article about what a male scientist thinks about women scientists: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-33077107

We've come a long way, but we're still not there yet.

I'll give this one 4.5 stars.

Pretty sad that people still make comments like this. And then he defended them.
As Mark Twain says "It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than open it and remove all doubt."

Better for a fool to open his mouth as soon as possible so that we all know to steer clear.

I finally got around to reading this story and I really loved it. It touched on a lot of great story elements: going back in time to meet a deceased hero, cheating death, falling in love, getting revenge on someone, and I felt that the descriptions of the past were just enough to make it come alive without being bogged down by historical details. For me this was a 5 star story.
