A.D. Davies (addavies) | 16 comments Hi,

I recently rebranded my novel Twilight Burning as The Dead and the Missing: An Adam Park Thriller

The Amazon ASIN has not changed but I would like to - if possible - have The Dead and the Missing as the default version of this novel. Twilight Burning is not an available title, except with "used" paperbacks in a very small number of areas. A paperback with new ISBN will be available shortly too.

Is this possible at all or do they have to remain separate?

Thanks,

Antony

Renette (babalela01) | 61 comments Goodreads authors can change the default edition of a work:
To use this feature, go to the edition you wish to set as the default, and click the "edit" link. On the edition's edit page there will be a link on the right side, about mid-way down the page and just before the link to refresh stats, to "Set this book as the primary edition for this work".

Z-squared | 8575 comments Renette is correct, that is the way to set default editions.

However, in the course of looking at your request, I noticed that the Amazon database had incorrectly overwritten the older kindle edition with your new title/cover. Removing old editions is against Goodreads policy. Instead, if a book is re-released with a new cover or title but an old ISBN, we create an alternate cover edition instead. I have created an ACE for your kindle edition here:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

To set it as default, just follow Renette's instructions in message 2.
