Shubhra | 3 comments 1. Mood - grim, abstract and contemporary style of writing.
2. Read it in early 2015 on my kindle, and now can't find my Kindle nor remember the name of the book.
3. Protagonists - male lead is a college grad artist who lives with his father and uncle but hates them. He is extremely skilled, but super self-absorbed. He kills his plumber uncle and shoves the body in his uncle's car, drives it away hoping nobody will notice. He falls in love with this overprotected girl whose mother was killed in a break-in, post which the girl lost her ability to speak for a bit. The girl's step mother is a psychologist and she keeps the girl overprotected.
3. Unforgettable scenes/parts - I. The guy builds a beautiful mirror and gifts it to the girl. II. The guy dismantles all the furniture in his house and gets rid of all he thinks dirty. III. The guy enters a beautiful house under the pretext of carpentering for the house, but makes it his own house. IV. The guy murders the land lady of the house, and hides her body in her cellar. Meanwhile, the guy becomes obsessed with the girl he loves and starts creating trouble for her.
V. Eventually, the guy gets caught in the same cellar and dies of suffocation.

Shubhra | 3 comments oh, there is another storyline to it. The woman who owns the house this protagonist tries to make his own featured in a famous artist's acclaimed painting. But the artist grew weary of his muse, and let this woman out on the streets with no money no help. She incidentally runs into the man who owns this beautiful paint-worthy house, gets him to leave his wife, and marry her. Thus the woman comes to be the landlady of this house, where our protagonist goes to fix some cupboard or something. The lady was in the habit of calling men under the pretext of having work for them, so that she could satisfy her carnal desires.

Good lord, I remember most things except the name!

Shubhra | 3 comments Rewording:

1. characters - lead guy, lead girl, side woman
2. side woman was an artist's muse, he painted her against a pretty house, painting became famous, he grew bored of her threw her out, she found the guy who owned the same house, married him and became the owner of his house. she was bored of her husband, made calls to workers under the pretext of work only to satisfy her carnal desire
3. girl's mom was killed when girl was a kid, her dad was sad and later married his daughter's psychiatrist. the girl's stepmom is super protective about her. she is so accustomed to the girl that even when she's old enough to go to college stepmom does not allow her to, quoting the killer may return for the girl. but actually, the killing happened as an accident because the killer mistook this family for another family whose name was similar. the father of the girl holds himself guilty because he spelled his name as Dr.X in the phone book even though he was just a PhD doctor not a real one. this doctor title caused the killer to get confused and come after his wife.
4. the guy is in introvert, loves beauty hates ugliness cannot stand dirt. he is a skilled wood artist aka carpenter. his filthy fat mom dies he's happy. his dad dies he's happy. then he kills his uncle and cleans up the house and hides uncle's body in uncle's car. he falls in love with this overprotected girl, she does too. he makes a beautifully carved mirror for his college project, and later gifts it to the girl. they find ways to meet avoiding her prying stepmom.
5. eventually the guy is called by the woman in the fancy house for fixing some wood work, but she actually wants to use him for carnal pleasures. he refuses her, but keeps visiting the house since he falls in love that house and its beauty. he wants to move in to that house with the girl he loves, and in the process, ends up killing the woman, hides her body in cellar. to bring his girlfriend to that house, he kills girlfriend's step mom, but the girl does not know he killed her. The girl begins to feel suffocated by the guy and his smothering, possessive love and wants out. Eventually, the guy while hiding from the dead woman's husband in the pretty house, ends up locking himself in the same cellar where he hid the dead body and dies himself.

Do you think the author is female or male?

GracieKat | 124 comments If Kym's book isn't the one you could possibly look it up through your kindle digital orders online (if it was purchased through Amazon). It might take a while to search through them all, depending on how many you have but I've looked up books that I'd forgotten that way.
