Andrea (dodgergirl99) | 39 comments This one's not available on Kindle! Am I actually supposed to be seen in public with dino porn? I suppose I can read it in hiding like some kind of dirty little secret...what have I been reduced to?

Cathal Stockdale | 21 comments I am having trouble find it in any eFormat - if anyone finds it please let me know

I noticed and had to download the audiobook, because it takes actual real books 6 weeks, or more to reach me when I order online

Amanda (ladycello) Don't forget your friendly, neighbourhood library! ;)

FYI for those in the Ottawa area, the Ottawa Public Library system has six copies. Apparently, we love Nina Bangs in Canada's Capital.

Eek I'm so sorry guys I didn't notice! Should we change the book? Don't want to prevent ppl from reading!

Amy Verdone | 30 comments I live in a very small Canadian town with a very large number of Mennonites. We have horse and buggies around here! No way I am getting this book at the library lol. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess they don't have it there anyways.

I searched for an hour last night for VF titles about dinosaurs for an alt alt, but I couldn't find any that were very good. It seems no one takes dinosaur romance seriously. Changing books would probably mean tossing out the whole Jurassic World theme.

Don't change it. I couldn't get Eternal Pleasure either but I loved the hangout. I haven't given up on getting the books. It will happen somehow even if it won't be in time for the hangout.

message 11: by Malaraa (new)

Malaraa | 335 comments Yeah, I was looking too, and good dinosaur stories are hard to find even without looking for one that includes romance. There's Jurassic park itself, a few "we time traveled to the days of dinosaurs!" adventure/scifi mixes, and the rest is all very very bad. (And I'm looking at you there, Dinosaur Planet! I remember the disappointment still!)

There's always TV and movie dinosaurs to talk about for those of us who aren't reading along. The first Jurassic Park, Primeval and Terra Nova (both of which had some minor romantic moments), Journey to the Center of the Earth, and many more.

Amanda (ladycello) I found only a small number of other authors so far who did Dinosaur romance: Christie Sims (the author of the alt), Alara Branwen, Hunter Fox and Chuck Tingle.

Comparatively, Nina Bangs looks much more "high brow" (well, as far as dinosaur erotica goes I suppose).

message 13: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Marae I'm gonna have to skip this one as well. Unfortunately shipping to Alaska is either time consuming or pricey. :C Plus, my nearest bookstore is an hour away. D*:

message 14: by Alisha (new)

Alisha I live in South Korea. I don't think I'll be able to find this book. I might try to read Jurassic Park instead. I'll still tune in to the hangout!

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Eternal Prey is from that series by Nina Bangs and on Scribd so I'm going with that one. :) Can't wait to hear this talk! lol

Lila Lockhart (lilalockhart) | 62 comments Maybe we could try Eternal Cravings and another book for those who can't get it? Alt alting. ;)

Maybe Eternal Cravings + Eternal Prey? xD

Keith (dredchupacabra) | 19 comments I ordered the physical copy from Amazon. For those who are unable to get the book, I managed to find an epub file of Eternal Craving and used Calibre to convert it for the Kindle.

So... are you willing to email a Kindle copy to someone?

Please move any further discussion about Eternal Craving or its availability here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
The same discussion is going on in two different places, and this thread is for questions you would like to ask the hosts on the hangout, not about the availability of the book itself. Thanks.

Frakki Karu | 509 comments I vote for Jurassic Jane Eyre as the main and Craving for the alt -- finding time to cover both for the hang out if possible. maybe a compare and contrast. that way people who were able to get the book are rewarded.

Robin YaBlind | 79 comments I really enjoyed the alt vlogs. Any chance those will be returning?

KaLee Douglas | 50 comments -Do you thing having emotions that are so strong that they can be felt by other people would be a good thing in our world? Or would being able to cast emotional boners be the new unwarranted dick pics?

-Why do you think there aren't more female masturbation scenes in romance novels?

-What type of dino-soul (or any other soul) would you have?

Amanda (ladycello) From the Nina Bangs website: "For all those who have asked about my Gods of the Night series, I’m trying. I want to see what happens between Fin and Zero as much as you do. And, of course, there’s the minor problem of earth’s survival."

All three books that currently exist in the series were written before December 21st, 2012. Given that we have made it past this date in the real world, if you were currently writing the next book, would you actually try to address this, and if so, how? Or, would you just ignore this and carry on with having the story happen before this date?

I usually check out the Vaginal Fantasy picks from the library when I can, but all too often they don't carry them. It wasn't that long ago that geek culture was considered by many to be trite, juvenille, and superficial; but now it dominates our media. Do you think a time will come when the romance genres are not marginalized for their romantic and sexual content as lady porn. Can a billion dollar industry get a little respect and overcome the stigma of smut? Will we ever ride the subway with a Nina Bangs novel and not get funny looks? (Okay, probably not that last one.)

Carly Crusade | 51 comments Sorry I should have been more specific lol. I meant the first book in the Gods of the Night series, Eternal Pleasure. I was looking through the old hangouts and couldn't find it.

When in doubt go to http://youtube.com/vaginalfantasy and look under "Live Streams". It's in the drop down box currently on the left that defaults to "Uploads"

TheDeletress (AvidReader) (a_nerd_girls_thoughts) | 10 comments Do you think the book was considerably tasteful for it's dinosaur theme or could have been done better?

anerdgirlthoughts.wordpress.com

What do Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, Ghouls, the Fae, and dinosaurs all have in common?

This book.

Eternal Craving written by Nina Bangs in 2009 is book two in the Gods of Night series. Vaginal Fantasy book club previously read book one of the series, Eternal Pleasure, but book two is the main selection for the month of June. Overall, this book was a decent read, though poorly edited. If you are looking for something that is not typical, or something that has dinosaurs in it then this book is for you.

The first thing I want to say about this book does not relate to the story or even the writer really. This book editor should be ashamed of themselves for releasing a book in this half done state. In the editing world it isn't actually the writers job to make sure everything flows and is proper, the writer is the creative mind and the editor is in charge of how the book presents. So when words are missing, words are misspelled, and punctuation is missing this is the editors fault. These mistakes happen entirely too often in this book, like no one paid attention. and it was very distracting and annoying.

As far as the writer, Nina Bangs, is concerned it was averagely written. The writing was not poorly done, or well done, but was of average writing capacity. Don't think I'm trying to say that is bad thing though.

Now onto the story its self. I did have to stop reading a couple times to let the laughter out of my head at the idea that I was reading a book with dinosaurs in it, but actually I find that it was rather tastefully done considering. The story is nicely filled with action, sexy time, and intriguing plot points. I found that the main male character, Al, was actually quite charming so he kept my attention. As always it is nice to have a main female character that doesn't simply accept everything happening around her, though she does she still run in fear sometimes.

"If she lived through this, Jenna would have the mother of all tabloid titles--How I Survived by Hiding in a Japanese Tea House While Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, and My Dinosaur Lover Battled to the Death."

"Nothing like a life-or-death situation to straighten out your priorities."

Now go forth, read something different from your normal, and prosper
