Hi, Renee! Congratulations on the release of Wagon Train Proposal! I can't imagine taking an arduous wagon train journey! Can you share an interesting tidbit you learned while researching this story?

Once in a comfortable car with air conditioning while doing reseach for my LIH book--I made copious notes on the terrain, etc. while my husband drove. Just thinking of crossing those prairies and mountains in a WAGON gave me a deeper appreciation for our intrepid ancestors bravery. I could just see Indians swooping down off of the mountains, or floating silently down the rivers in their canoes. And then I traveled it again with my characters when I wrote the book. Now, it looks like I'll be traveling it a third time with your characters. : )
Tristan sounds like my kind of hero. Why is a sheriff traveling with your wagon train?
Hi Renee, I have just finished reading the story of Rachel's sister on that wagon train and am anxious to see what you have done with this new couple. NO, I don't think I would have done well on a western journey like that...too hard. What made you want to do a story like this one? Was it hard to switch the way you think in other stories you write to this rugged one? I know you will have done a good job and look forward to reading.
Lacy, my favorite cowboy movie is a miniseries, Lonesome Dove. So beautiful and poignant and full of layers of emotion and courage.

I've read the first two books in the series and am reading yours now. Or I was reading it on my lunch break. I'm back writing now.

Hi Renee,I love the premise of your book. These two characters sound so interesting, one wanting love like she's seen her siblings find, and the other not wanting to risk his emotions. Seems like it is the perfect set up for tension and attraction to build!
Will there be more books in this series after this one?
love the sound of the book and the little girls sound interesting. I love books set on the Oregon trail (or any of the trail trips.) They intrigue me. Did you need to do a lot of research for the book?
Hi Renee! Always good to "see" you! I love love love your books! I think I tell you this every time. :)I come from pioneers, and it's a big part of my religious background. Even though I am so not a camper, had I lived at that time, yes I am certain I would have been one of those on the wagon train. :)
Tristan is a name I just love btw. I have a book I am writing just for fun about all the crazy stories from work, but I threw me in a love interest, what I wish would happen, haha, and his name is Tristan. ;)
Our third author this week is Rhonda Gibson
Rhonda Gibson lives in New Mexico with her husband, James. She has two children and two beautiful grandchildren. Reading is something she has enjoyed her whole life, and writing stemmed from that love. When she isn't writing or reading, she enjoys gardening, beading and playing with her dog, Sheba. She speaks at conferences and local writing groups. You can visit her at her website or blog, where she enjoys chatting with readers and friends online. Rhonda hopes her writing will entertain, encourage and bring others closer to God.
And her book is The Texan's Twin Blessings
BLURB:
Stand-In Father
As temporary guardian to his twin baby nieces, William Barns barely knows a diaper from a burp cloth. The well-meaning but meddling neighbor ladies suggest a wife—namely Emily Jane Rodgers. Although William isn't in the market for a bride, he needs a loving woman to watch over the children, and Emily Jane fits the bill nicely.
Emily Jane agrees to care for William's nieces—not become his betrothed. Fully determined to find her own way in life and to open her own bakery, Emily Jane isn't looking for a husband. But no matter how hard she resists, Emily Jane is roped in by the twins' little hugs and William's tender regard. And soon she longs to be a permanent part of this ready-made family…
Welcome Rhonda and let's ask her what the mystique of being a Texan is?

Hi Rhonda, the story sounds great. I love stories with kids! The stories with kids that find someone to love them are even better!!! Why are neighbors always so meddlesome?? ;). How many books do you have published now and do you have more you are working on for LIH?
Hi Rhonda! Which of the stories are you working on next from the "extra" brides that Levi's mother had ordered?
Hi Rhonda! Congratulations on this newest story. Do you think it is harder or easier to write a story with babies/children in them as opposed to one without? What are the challenges to adding children into a story?
Hey everyone! I had trainning this morning on a new accounting program so I just got a chance to stop by now.Renee I love the sound of the contiunity you just finished. I remember playing the game Oregon Trail on the computer when I was in school. What are you currently working on?
Rhonda I love the sound of your book as well. It looks like the questions I would ask someone else has so I will just wait for your answers. :)
Also I won a book last month so please don't enter me in this month's giveaways. Thank you
Hi Rhonda. How old are the twins in your story? Are the ones on your cover the right age? It's a cute cover.
I had trouble getting onto Goodreads this morning. There was a notice that they were working on the problem. I hope Rhonda doesn't have trouble logging on to answer our questions.Did anyone else have trouble logging on?

Maybe that's why Rhonda hasn't stopped by. I'll email her again.

I have a question for everyone. Do any of you have twins in your family? Our friends had identical twin boys, and I do mean identical. I never could tell them apart, and the thing that used to tickle me, was when they would get upset with one another as teens, and one would say to the other "Get your ugly face out of my sight!" Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! LOL
We had three sets of twins on my side of the family, but they were all much older than me. One set was my grandfather and his sister. And my husband was supposed to be an identical twin, but early on, something didn't form correctly in the other twin, I suppose, and he ended up being the only baby born. They could see the double placenta at birth. He always teased his mom when she was aggravated with his behavior saying, "Just remember, you could have been dealing with another one just like me. You actually have it pretty easy!"
June wrote: "Hi Rhonda, the story sounds great. I love stories with kids! The stories with kids that find someone to love them are even better!!! Why are neighbors always so meddlesome?? ;). How many books do..."
Hi June!
I'm sorry I'm late getting here. Problems with getting in, plus I drowned my phone a few days ago and it has all my reminders in it.
To answer your question June, God has blessed me with 20 books in all during my career. Since I have started writing for LIH, I've written 7 books that are out now, I have a new releases coming out in Dec. 2015, March 2016, and another Christmas book in 2016 . I've been discussing a mini series with my editor and I am excited to say that there is a possibility of at least 6 more books with LIH, if the mini series comes to pass.
Dawn wrote: "Hi Rhonda! Which of the stories are you working on next from the "extra" brides that Levi's mother had ordered?"Hi Dawn,
I am working on Susanna's story now. I just finished Anna Mae's, it's titled, A Convenient Christmas Bride coming out around Christmas this year :)
Brittany wrote: "Hi Rhonda! Congratulations on this newest story. Do you think it is harder or easier to write a story with babies/children in them as opposed to one without? What are the challenges to adding child..."Great question, Brittany
I think it is easier 'for me' to write with children/babies because I love both and have worked with both all my adult life, I used to be a school librarian before I started writing for LIH. Again, for myself, I find that I have to refresh myself on how the children act and speak at the age that I decide to write them at, sometimes that's a challenge. But, I've discovered if I go out to eat or to the library there are plenty of children to observe :)
Dorothy wrote: "Hi Rhonda. How old are the twins in your story? Are the ones on your cover the right age? It's a cute cover."Hi Dorothy!
In this book the twins are a year and a half old, so I think they look about that age. They are a little bigger than my twins but they are so cute, I over looked that :)
Keli wrote: "Congratulations on your latest release. What a fun story! What prompted you to give William twin nieces? Are there twins in your family? Did you have twin friends growing up?"
Great questions, Keli
Emily Jane has been around children all her life and wasn't really looking for a man with children, William popped up and offered to be her groom but he had a deep responsibly for family and came with children. The twins created the perfect conflict and I liked them so that's how they all came to being.
I didn't have twin friends growing up. My dad was a twin and I really wanted to have twins growing up. God knew that wasn't for me but He blessed me with two children that are 12 months apart... pretty close to twins... sheepish grin.
Dorothy wrote: "I have a question for everyone. Do any of you have twins in your family? Our friends had identical twin boys, and I do mean identical. I never could tell them apart, and the thing that used to tic..."
Laughing, that is too funny Dorothy. Other than Dad, I don't.
Brittany wrote: "We had three sets of twins on my side of the family, but they were all much older than me. One set was my grandfather and his sister. And my husband was supposed to be an identical twin, but early..."
Boys! what a hoot!! Your husband sounds fun, Brittany.
Hi, Rhonda! Congratulations on the release of The Texan's Twin Blessings! I love the adorable cover! Can you believe that my brother and I both married twins!! My husband has a twin sister, and twins run in their family on the paternal side. My sister-in-law has an identical twin sister, and twins run in their family as well.
Hi Britney!! Thank you, I love that cover too. The LIH art department does such a good job.
That sounds like a lot of fun. My brother has yet to marry, maybe he'll bring home a spouse with a twin. My sweet man has a brother and a sister but no twin.
The twins will be back in A Convenient Christmas Bride. They are now two years old and loads of fun! I enjoyed writing about them :)
Hello Rhonda, almost forgot to come back and check today, I too could not get in this morning on goodreads. We have grandsons that are not identical twins, My hubby's sister had a twin that died at birth also.
I enjoy these stories when a man thinks he does not need to marry and then oops he needs help and who does he think to help him..."a wife". I think Emily Jane is smart to say no at first to him.
How did William meet Emily Jane and did they like one another at the beginning? two year old twins is sure to keep this couple busy as little bees.
Thanks for sharing with the group, good to see ya again.
Hi Paula-OWilliam and Emily Jane meet on page one. William is coming to his grandmother for help with the twins but she isn't there. Emily Jane is her neighbor and she comes to give William the sad news. It wasn't love at first sight but they did like each other.
I get here later now days as I am in bed when you first post. There are no twins In the family that I know about.I love the sound of the book and kids at that age are adorable and can also be a bit of a handful. (our pastor has a little girl that age). Sounds like a fun read and will be interesting if Emily gets to do her baking also.
Thanks for coming Jenny :) I'm glad you could make it. We had a bit of a slow start or at least I did.
My mom always wanted twins but was never blessed with any. When she had her last child, a set of (boy girl) twins moved into our town and we unofficially adopted them. They are my age and we've all been great friends for about 35 years now. I do have a brother who has girl, boy twins also. They are about 16 now.
And me the night owl gets on when I really should be in bed! ;) Renee, it is way fun. Working with people at the restaurant brings new adventures daily. I am enjoying writing the stories down. :) And I fell in love with the name Tristan from watching Gilmore Girls. haha I wished he had been more of a prominent character!
Sorry I missed you today, Rhonda. I enjoyed reading the discussion! I always wanted to be a twin. But alas no twins in our family! My boss just wishes he could clone me, hahaha.
Our final author today is Keli Gwyn, an author that may be new to you. Please welcome
Award-winning author Keli Gwyn, a native Californian, transports readers to the early days of the Golden State. She and her husband live in the heart of California's Gold Country. Her favorite places to visit are her fictional worlds, historical museums and other Gold Rush-era towns. Keli loves hearing from readers and invites you to visit her Victorian-style cyber home, where you'll find her contact information.
A Family to Cherish
Headstrong Tess Grimsby loves her new job caring for the children of a recently widowed man. But she never imagined that she'd fall for her handsome employer. Yet Spencer Abbott is as caring as he is attractive, and Tess can't help but feel for him and his family. Though, for the sake of her job, she'll keep any emotions about her boss to herself.
Between his stationmaster responsibilities in a gold-rush town and trying to put his family back together, Spencer has his hands full. He soon finds his new hire's kind personality warming his frosty exterior. But could he ever admit to seeing her as more than just an employee?
Is this your first time here, Keli?

Hi Keli, I, also, am happy to welcome you to the Love Inspired Historical family! You've got a great first cover. I love the swing idea. It certainly catches the eye of those of us who loved to swing as kids. Was that one of your suggestions? What are the responsibilities of a stationmaster in a gold-rush town?
Jean wrote: "Can't wait to see the twins again in A Convenient Christmas Bride."Thanks Jean, they are a little older and a little more mischievous.
So happy to see Keli here today! Over the last few days I've gotten to know her better and can't wait to read her book. How old are the children in your book, Keli?
Good morning Keli, have you found any gold in them thar hills you live in? LOLLast but not least an author I love to read and one with a heart of Gold that is for sure.
I have read this book so don't put me in drawing, love these characters Spencer and Tess. you chose a little different type of story, How does an author choose the personality of the characters and then bring them to life for we readers? You do a great job of it.
Hi, Keli! As you know, I'm so excited about Family of Her Dreams and look forward to reading this wonderful story! What has been one of your favorite moments so far in your LIH debut?
Hello Keli! My auto correct on my phone keeps changing your name to Mel! Haha It's like I use that name or something. ;) I have been looking forward to this book for awhile. I love the cover, and I am grateful to be your Facebook friend. I just think you are so lovely! :)
This was another really good one this month. I actually enjoyed all four of the books this time. :)Keli, Do you have plans for more in this community where Tess and Spencer live?
Congratulations, Keli! I'm so excited for you. Your book sounds terrific. Welcome to Love Inspired Historical.
