Jay Cutts | 15 comments I'd love to provide you with a free copy, electronic or even paper if you prefer. I'm hoping for someone who's a good match for the book, so how about I send you an excerpt first? Then, I would be grateful if we could agree that if you think the book is worth less than 4 stars, you give your feedback to me privately. If you think it's worth 4 or more, you share with me and post to Goodreads and Amazon. Is that reasonable?

Jay Cutts | 15 comments Hi, Juan.

Thanks for getting in touch. Could you please take a look at the free excerpt from Death by Haggis at:

http://www.cuttsreviews.com/books

I just want to make sure the book is a good match for you. If you like what you read there, let me know. I'll be glad to send a paper copy to you.

Are you ok with the conditions that I requested?

1. If you don't think the book is worth at least 4 stars, you won't publish a review on Goodreads or Amazon. However, you will spend a little time with me helping me understand what didn't work for you.

2. If you DO think it's worth at least 4 stars, you agree to publish a review on both Goodreads and Amazon. Plus I would love to hear what you enjoyed about it. That's what makes the writing worth it for me.

Sound ok?

I appreciate your interest and look forward to hearing back.

Jay

S.I. Hayes (sihayes) | 8 comments The title is catchy, I wonder what is the book about? could you post a description or blurb? I have openings on my Blog for July and August if it peaks my interest beyond the title. Check out my blog and see if you think we would be a good fit and gimme a shout.

Jay Cutts | 15 comments Hi, SI.

Thanks for your interest. I've read over your rules. They look ok. Would you be willing to post on Amazon and Goodreads if you think you can give at least 4 stars?

Here's a blurb:

Death By Haggis:

An Amazon Breakthrough Novel Quarterfinalist

A tongue in cheek detective novel inspired by the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest for the "opening sentence to the worst of all possible novels."

Until the day Jane Hamchester walked into his squalid office, the highlight of Detective Sam Barlow's life had been a particularly good tuna sandwich. Now he is charged with trying to save the life of the only woman he ever, uhm, thought was really swell. His only problem is that there are no clues, other than the nonsensical utterances of a dying man.

Barlow's desperate search takes him first to Scotland and then to the Aegean. But time is running out. Not only for Jane but for the human race. Barlow's only possible hope lies at the bottom of an ancient cavern, a remnant from the time when a different kind of human populated the Earth, a kind of human that could have saved mankind. Alas, they are long extinct. Or are they?

You're welcome to glance at the intro and first five chapters at:

www.cuttsreviews.com/books/

The book starts out as a spoof on the noir detective genre, much like the movie Murder by Death. I drop the intense spoofiness rather quickly because it's a little hard to read for very long but I still have had some readers who couldn't get past the first chapter.

The story moves on from the first "dark and stormy night" to carry us into mysterious caves in the Scottish Highlands, the family dynamics of the Greek pantheon, the love lives of ruthless spies, the therapy sessions of a self-obsessed NJ princess, and the hope for a genetically improved humanity.

I'd be thrilled to have you review it if it piques your interest.

Jay Cutts | 15 comments Hi, Melissa.

Thanks for your interest. Do you have a blog? Are you ok with my suggestion that if you like the book, you will post a review on Amazon and Goodreads and if you don't like the book, you won't post but you'll go over with me what didn't work?

Have you looked at my page with a description and the first five chapters? I just want to make sure the beginning works for you before sending a paper copy.

Thanks!!
