"Rough day?" Rose asks

Daniella Dominus walked over to a nearby bookshelf, her cat weaving between her legs as she went, almost tripping her up. That cat stuck to her like glue! "You silly cat!" Daniella hissed, but she didn't really mean it. She loved Talon. She gently prized a book from the shelf. It said,'Wandmaking for Begginers' in spidery gold writing along the banded spine. It had clearly not been read in a long time, and Daniella brushed off a few cobwebs and coughed as dust flew off the ancient red cover. She walked along the old wooden floors, boards creaking as she went. Sitting down on a chair, Daniella flipped open the cover and began to read. Talon jumped nimbly onto her lap and Daniella stroked her striped silver fur while the welcoming smell of ink on paper wafted up to her nose. She immersed herself in the world of wandmaking.

"Right, sorry, it's just that Talon always follows me in here anyway if I try to leave him behind." Daniella laughed, rolling her eyes. She set her book down and turned to face the girl next to her. "I'm Daniella by the way- 5th year Slytherin." She smiled. It was always good to make friends outside of her own house, despite what the others thought about Hufflepuff.

((I think Slytherin/Hufflepuff friendships would be the most powerful friendship.))
(( :) yep )) "Wandmaking for Begginers." Daniella replied, showing Ava the cover. "I just wanted to find out a bit more about wand history... I actually find it incredibly interesting. At home I have a shelf of the library dedicated to the subject." She admitted, and glanced over at the book Ava was holding. "What are you in here for? Studying, I suppose?"

Daniella smiled. Ava was obviously hiding something, but it clearly embarrassed her so she didn't ask any more questions. Instead she turned the conversation towards their respective houses. "So, what's it like being in Hufflepuff?" Daniella asked curiously, placing Talon gently on the floor, to which the cat responded with pitiful meows. "We don't usually talk about the other houses in Slytherin, except to insult them, but I think each one has it's strong points. It's not really fair to disregard any of the houses." She commented. Daniella looked at Ava for her reaction.

"You're right about that." Daniella grinned. She would do anything for a friend, and knew that most Hufflepuffs were much the same. "Slytherin is nowhere near as social. Many of us are quite independent, although we do get up to some fun tricks now and then." She added, remembering the time when her and her friends had played a prank on a seventh year. They had paid for it though... "One thing we all love is Quidditch, though." Daniella admitted. "I do prefer watching to playing it, though. I'm not really the best at it myself, to be completely honest, although I do like playing casually with my friends. Do you play?" she asked politely. Finally a topic sure to please both of them. Practically every witch and wizard loved the game, and the following at Hogwarts was huge!

((Erm this is where it gets hard... should I carry on the conversation about quidditch or move on???))

"Really?" Daniella smiled. She knew Ava was trying to hide it, but it was rather obvious to her that she wasn't being entirely honest. "I can tell what you actually think, you know. You shouldn't be afraid of people knowing you like playing quidditch. Just be yourself, Ava. No one will judge you for doing what feels right." She told Ava gently. "Even if you're not that good at playing, no one will mind. Hey, I'm not the best, but I still play." Daniella laughed.

Daniella watched Ava. Clearly this was an issue for her, and she hoped she could help. "Maybe if you have a go with a few people for a start, just playing casually, it would help." She suggested. Ava might find it easier to relax if she just played with a small group of people she knew at first, then build up to playing bigger games. "We could arrange a game with some of your friends if you like. I'd love to help you, if you want it." Daniella said. Hopefully she would take the offer. It was always more relaxing to play in a fun environment than competitive, and Daniella knew some easy charm to help calm the nerves.

"If it makes you feel more comfortable..." Daniella agreed. This was obviously the first time Ava had confessed to anyone at Hogwarts about her secret hobby. "Is that a yes?" She grinned, trying to lighten the mood.

"Any time, really." Daniella decided. "When is best for you?"

"Okay. Well, how about in the afternoon, a few hours after lessons have finished for the day?" Daniella mused. "I play chaser, by the way. What about you?" Daniella supposed Ava might play seeker, although she could be wrong. She had surprised Daniella more than once already.

"Cool," Daniella smiled. She was impressed that Ava wasn't trying to postpone the game for later. She didn't know if she would have been so brave. Daniella picked up her book. "Well, I guess I'll see you later, Ava," she said, getting up from the chair reluctantly. It had been nice talking to her, and hopefully when they played quidditch Daniella could get to know her a bit better. She gave a little wave in Ava's direction and then headed off to get her book issued. Talon padded along behind her, grateful to have Daniella's undivided attention again.

((Want to move this to the Quidditch Pitch?))

What time WAS it? 7:36? Not bad Lils not bad. Lily smirked at her thoughts and actually began searching for Nan

She walked over to Lily. "Hi," she said, "Did anyone come with you?"

Lily zoned out thinking about how many episodes of Doctor Who she was missing.
Her Dad would probably spoil it for her.
'Why has everyone been so distant lately?
I wonder if they have muggle books here...'
Lily snapped out of her thoughts in time to see a pair of Slytherins walking by causing her to zone out again.
'What's it like-'

She knew better than to tell Lily to watch the vulgarities that were coming out of her mouth. She just hoped Lily's confession wouldn't contain to many curse words.
((See you at the Black Lake))

"How many cousins do I have?" Because she doesn't know and that would be a nightmare trying to buy gifts for a good percentage of the school.
