Ava entered the library and sat down at a table, pulling out some homework. She pulled her long blonde hair back into a ponytail before beginning her work.

Lily slowly closed her book and left to place it on the shelf. Humming a tune, she skipped through the aisles occasionally stopping to say hello to her classmates. Her unmelodious humming soon turned into the Doctor Who theme song.
Ava's eyes darted up as she heard someone humming the Doctor Who theme song. She stood up and was about to investigate when she saw who it was. The girl wasn't very far from her, just down the aisle she was in. Ava laughed and sat back down, wondering if the Doctor Who girl would come by again.
Lily lifted her book up so it would place the book where it goes. Spinning on her heel, she turned and continued her skipping and humming. Lily stopped by a friendly looking girl who appeared to be studying. She smiled and took a seat without asking. "Hi! I'm Lily! What are you studying?" She asked cheerfully because she was just in a cheerful mood.
Ava smiled at the girl and dropped her book. "Oh, just Herbology," she looked at her wristwatch. "Guess it's overdue, a break," she commented after looking at the time. She had been studying for a few hours already, and would head back to her common room soon. "What are you up to?" she asked politely.
Lily's smile brightened. "Oh! You know! I was just hanging out by myself reading about Quidditch. Ooh I like Herbology! Well. I like all my classes. Well besides History of Magic" Lily rambled taking a deep sigh before looking up at all the books.
Ava laughed. "Quidditch, huh. I don't have a particular love for Herbology, but I don't dislike it either. I don't know, I just think I like all my classes fine, with a few that are favoured a bit more than others," she rambled.
Lily laughed. "Sorry I never caught your name." She apologized shifting in her seat as she began braiding her hair.
"That's a nice name" Lily said and tried to think of where she had heard it before. Maybe one of her cousins mentioned her. She couldn't find any instance she had heard the name. "Random thought.. Do you play Quidditch?"
Ava smiled when Lily complimented her name. "Thank you," she said brightly. Her eyes were cast down and her smile faded when she was asked if she played Quidditch. "Er.. no I don't play Quidditch," she said quietly, returning back to her book.
Lily's eyes widened microscopically upon seeing her new friends frown"Oh that's fine. Most don't really like Quidditch and only watch it because it's a school event." Lily said trying to cheer Ava up.
Ava gave Lily a small smile and just stared at the page, not really reading. "Wait, you're a Gryffindor, right?" she asked curiously. Ava thought that she might have heard of this girl.
Lily looked at Ava in a state of confusion."Yes of course I am? Is there something wrong that?" Lily inquired mildly offended.
Ava laughed at Lily's confusion and her offense. "No there's nothing wrong with that, I just think I might've heard something about you, that's all," she tried to comfort the offended girl.
Lily stared at Ava her confusion only growing. "And not trying to be rude.. But what might you have heard about me? Because I can assure you that it is false" Lily said quickly with her anxiety rising as the confusion dissolved.
"Oh nothing of importance. Er.. let me think. I know it's somewhere in this old brain of mine," she laughed, trying to recall. "I think it might've been that your twin sister Ruby pulled a prank on one of the girls in my year. They weren't too happy about that," she gave a reassuring smile.
Lily smiled knowing that it wasn't because of who her dad is. "I'm sorry for anything Ruby might have done. She's unpredictable" Lily apologized slowly.
"Umm.. Have you heard anything else about me?"
"Not that I recall. I don't normally hear rumors, as people know I'm usually the one to shut them down," she laughed. "If I know the person I'll just list amazing things about them. If I don't know them, I usually just say 'Did you know a family member of theirs passed away? What a shame. I don't think they need to hear things like that at this horrible time, so please stop,'" she smiled as she told Lily what she normally did.
Lily sighed in relief. "Oh thank Merlin..." She mumbled running a hand through her hair, completely ruining her braid.
"So! What do you normally do for fun Ava?" She asked glad it wasn't what she thought.
Cassandra wandered the shelves in the library, her brow furrowed and a frown on her face. She was already having a bad day, and now she couldn't find the book she needed. "I could have sworn it would be here," she mumbled.
Lily walked around the Library, mindlessly, before she saw who looked like a confused girl."Umm.. Hello... Is there anything I can help you find?" She heard herself ask before realizing she sounded like the librarian.
Cass didn't even look at whomever was asking that question, continuing to look for a spine that resembled that of the book she was assigned. "Why, yes. I'm looking for-" She looked down to make eye contact with her helper, then narrowed her eyes when she saw that she was not, in fact, an older witch capable of being a librarian, but a Gryffindor student who couldn't be older than thirteen. "Don't think me rude, but aren't you a bit, erm, young to be working in the library?"
Lily was at a loss of words. The only thing she could think to do was avoid eye contact.
Lily laughed at herself.
"I'm terribly sorry.. I didn't mean to come off as Madam Pince.. I just saw you needed help so I thought I could be of assistance. As I do spend most of my time in here" Lily said quickly
She didn't look back at the girl as she continued to look for the book that she needed. She was pretty sure that it was blue, but perhaps the library had a different edition. "I'm looking for a book for my Care of Magical Creatures class, but I can't seem to find it."
