Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Okay, to start, we have the usual general questions:

•Did you enjoy the book? Why? Why not?

•Did you feel that the book fulfilled your expectations? Were you disappointed?

•What did you think of the characters? Could you relate to them or no?
- Who were your favorite characters?
- Who were your least favorite characters?
--------------------------------------------
Also, we would like to know which of the stories were your favorites. =)

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Okay, to start with a few quick thoughts:

Naturally, I absolutely loved "House of the Rising Son". As I have stated many, many times before, I am an absolute sucker for backstory, and I loved seeing the beginning of Bathymaas and Aricles even if the ending was bittersweet. Not to mention that we finally got to see Caleb making an official appearance in the DH series. ;)

I also loved "Winter Born", with Pandora and Dante. Lovely story, and I love that it's stated on the official site that Dante never removes the bell that Pandora gave him at the end of the story. (Mike and Leo were absolutely hilarious, too.)

V'aidan's story broke my heart, when Erin saw him in his true form in Tartarus.

Oddly enough, though, my other favorite story in the collection was "Love Bytes". Never mind that it wasn't DH or League related, I still loved it. =)

Looking forward to others' thoughts here. =)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I loved House of the Rising Son as well. And really kind of bummed/ticked that they didn't make THAT the prologue story. Had me totally amped up to read Styxx, AFTER I had just finished it, lol.

I loved Dante since he was first introduced and his story was just as good. Although, it has me thinking now, given what we do of CON. Is the fact someone from the future came back to live in the past, why folks think Kody and current Nick could make it as a couple?! Been thinking about that lately.

Truly Phantom Lover is about the only dream-hunter story I ever really loved. The others were good for some additional side info. But that first on was really touching.

Dark-Hunter Christmas was very heart warming. Especially seeing Ash with those kids. And I repeat, if they still had the old site up, where Carl or whoever on SK's team had picked out male modelesque guys to portray the characters in their profiles, I swear, to this day. Those were the days that I totally fell in love with the dude that she chose for Gallagher. Business man delicioso!!! And that double bow and arrow tat on his hip, sweet lordy!!!!

Hard Day's Night Searcher made me want to kick the pirate DH's squire's ass to high heaven. I totally agreed with Nick that the newest squires were majorly slacking. I mean for what that dude printed about their world. And then that one female squire, I believe in Susan and Ravyn's book having a website or something. That pissed me off royally. Cause there was no way in the HELL they would have let Nick or anyone else get away with stuff like that. But those 2 knuckle heads were getting away with murder so to speak and totally should have been taken out by the Blood Rites on the spot!

Until Death Do We Part was kind of meh for me. But I did think it was interesting that when Velkan died he took his wife into DH service with him. And it was kind of heart wrenching when she climbed out of her grave and left him for a while.

I can't remember much about Fear the Darkness, although was that the part of things where Nick witnessed Ash's wedding? Or was it when Ash was telling Nick that his mom is at peace after her death?

Where Angels Fear to Tread was another kind of meh story for me. Interesting to see how a member of Thorn's Hellchasers came about. But it was kind of just off in a story with other lite horror stories surrounding it. And really didn't fufill much of anything til you see him more later in the series.

Shadow of the Moon was I'm really not sure what. Cause I liked Fury a lot. But his mate was just TOO human for him and I think even his family. Hell she seemed far more human than even Bride who was born human. And I just didn't think they meshed well.

As for the unrelated stories, I read Love Bytes sometime well after I read Night Pleasures and for some reason even back then I didn't think SK of the DH world was the Kenyon of that contemporary story at the time. But I really enjoyed it. Was cute and sweet. And again I really related to it.

Santa Spurs, probably do to the historical romance nature of it. Just wasn't my cup of tea. I mean it was ok but then just felt a little incomplete and rushed.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha, I love guys. Here Charlotte and I wrote nearly as many words as were in Dark Bites about what we liked. And Slick is like I'm in it for the dude stories, yea! Lol, love that.

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments LOL! So true, Dhfan. XD

Fear the Darkness was actually Mennie's first appearance in the DH world. But yeah, she was the one who told Nick that his mom was at peace.

Talking about Pandora coming from the future as a basis for Nick and Kody making it as a couple, yeah definitely that gives ideas. Plus, someone asked Carl on FB if Kody was going to make an appearance in the DH world, and he replied that he didn't think so, unless she could time travel--which she is capable of. Not sure if she was capable of it before her death, though. At this point in time, I view the time travel scenario as one of a few possibilities.

Hard Day's Night Searcher ... yeah, that kid was definitely an idiot. He's lucky to still be alive.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ahh, I'll definitely have to re-read Fear the Darkness then. Back in the days when we could "trust" Mennie.

Yea, and if she did come back, man Sav would totally be PO'd. He likes to keep things in order and Kody would totally throw things out of whack. Heck even if she sneezed or caught a cold or something in the past that could change lives.

No kidding. I was soooo looking forward to Otto at least roughing him up a bit or something.
