Love Stinks Reporting Thread
Things seemed more productive for me yesterday than today. I've read 2 books, but haven't gotten far in the book I'm reading now, Halfway to the Grave. I see some hot vampire sex coming in that one soon.
Finally, first book done! It was dud! Oh well, it does have a great title for some good spine poetry! Will update my thread now!The Evidence Against Her: A Novel
Almeta wrote: "Anna wrote: "@Almeta, link "Show Some Spine." (message2) is not working"Anna, thanks for letting me know.
I've fixed the link.
NOW
We have to get jaxnsmom to unfreeze it! ☻"
Oops, sorry. I thought I had unfrozen them all:)
Debra - your suggestion to WoL backfired a bit and I fell asleep :DNice job on msg 1 and 2 Almeta! And I love the pirate flag through a spyglass.
Lori wrote: "Finished my second book The Bridges of Madison County"Was the book as good or better than the movie?

I fell asleep, too! Oops.
Finished my third book--it took me all day! It was also a hoot, very smart and funny: The Cowboy and the Vampire. Now I'm started on my rescue dog story: Love to the Rescue. This one is a really quick read so far.
Finished my third book, The Death of Bees. Really good! One really messed up sister, and the other marching to her own beat; they are totally screwed until Lennie helps them. These are people you don't want to know, and then you realize you care very much what happens to them. Now off to bed with a book.
I think everyone had a great reading weekend!
GO TEAM LOVE SUCKS!!
We have quite a mixture of storylines here. Thanks to some of you, who are sticking to a lack luster book, just for the Home Team!
Your sacrifice is commendable.:)
Gaeta1 wrote: "finished number three. You can get to it easily by using the link in msg 3.
You're moving right along now!
Finished book 4 - Summer's DreamYoung Adult/teenage book that my daughter wanted me to read and it fits in with the toppler :)
I'd say it would fit under If love was a storybook, we'd meet on the very first page as it is pretty much a fairy tale, just written in the 80s. The other would be Love at First Sight as Farm Boy loves Buttercup from day one.
Sorry another question.Would this book Zoo fall under this category? The main character is a biologist.
Animal Desire Read a book where a main character’s job involves animals other than pets (wildlife rescue, zoo, circus…)
Ah what a lot of activity to wake up to. Go team, you are all doing an amazing job! Now, if only I didn't have to work *sigh*

I would say so. We may have to let Jmom make the final ruling, but I think you can argue that a biologist mapping animal behaviour of wildlife in Africa would fit. Perfectly fits "main character’s job involves animals other than pets" to me

Nasty four letter word: Work. :)

Good catch!
Corrected. Thanks.
I have finished my first book, Birdsong. It was a brilliant book, a really moving story of love, loss and the horrors of the First World War. It is one of the best stand-alone novels I have ever read (I needed a tissue a couple of times) and I gave it a 5 star rating. Now I am moving onto my second book which is Splintered which I am hoping will be a fun and interesting read.
Lisa wrote: "I have finished my first book, Birdsong. It was a brilliant book, a really moving story of love, loss and the horrors of the First World War. It is one of the best stand-alone novels I have ever re..."Didn't I say that it would be a "four hanky" book? :)
Great that you liked it so much. I usually avoid tear jerkers, but maybe I should try this one.
Almeta wrote: "Lisa wrote: "I have finished my first book, Birdsong. It was a brilliant book, a really moving story of love, loss and the horrors of the First World War. It is one of the best stand-alone novels I..."Lol. You certainly did and you were right! :)
I would definitely recommend giving this book a go. It is a tear jerker and it's certainly not a light, easy book to read but it has a really meaningful story and I am so glad that I finally got around to reading it.
Finished my audiobook so may have to download another... Toothache today, dentist tomorrow ready for pancake day. Woo!
I didn't think I would Topple much, but I'm doing ok. A little help for the Stink Team.
Go Love Stinks, kick those sickly sweet love bunnies butts.
Read Love, Lies and Liquor for the "The Heart Wants What the Heart Wants" task. Poor, Agatha. All the unworthy men falling at her feet. :D

I've just managed to wrangle Friday off work. Mr Kat is working so what else am I going to do?! teehee.
I put flight time to good use and am 2/3rd of the way through another book. Mary Anne Which I think will fit either love, marriage & a baby carriage OR the heart wants what the heart can't have. Undecided as yet.

Yup. shattered & starving, but I arrived. Even worse weather here than at home - so much for my thoughts of some winter sun... Will have to curl up with a book instead of soghtseeing.

Well, I started my fourth book yesterday, got two-thirds through and then started another which is a faster read. Hopefully I'll finish both tomorrow evening (I teach tonight so won't have much reading time today).I have a question about the spine poetry. Can we use more than three books?
Yes, Lara, it's 3 or more. Mine will use 4 (assuming I get them all finished)
Helen wrote: "Yes, Lara, it's 3 or more. Mine will use 4 (assuming I get them all finished)"Great! I've been trying to read in the order of a possible poem, but am not sure about some of my lines. We'll see, but I'll certainly have at least 4 titles to work with.

Love the romantic zombies. What a hoot!
