Do you still have time to read a short one to make 4.5 into a 5?

Read, READ! :D

April | 970 comments Happy Belated Valentine's Day to Love Stinks! I'm behind on reading posts so I will do that later today. Hubby surprised me with roses, a mushy card, chocolate, and Stephen King's The Wind Through the Keyhole The Wind Through the Keyhole (The Dark Tower, #4.5) by Stephen King ! What a guy!

I've read three more books to put toward the toppler!
Dark Places
An Abundance of Katherines
Heart-Shaped Box

In addition to that, I have a song and a spine poem! I'm working on getting those posted now.

I will be leaving for a trip out of town with my parents. Although I'm bringing a book with me, I'm not sure if I will be able to get reading done. I do have wi-fi in my hotel room so I will check back later this evening.

Happy Reading!

Why not to add it to GR?
If you will give me authors name, tittle (and if you can isbn, link to cover, summary) I could add it GR.

Well it will certainly meet the requirements for the "love stinks" task. Several times a chapter, in fact, and quite inventively.

It was just about the right side of burnt. Not necessarily conducive to reading terribly quickly, if you get my drift. Can't actually think of anything that they didn't get up to. Debating the review writing, I mean, what do you say!

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments I didn't have time to read another book so I thought I'd better do some serious song lyrics for a couple of the books I have read.

THE HOUSE OF MIRTH
by Lily Bart

Oh yeah, I'll tell you something,
I think you'll understand.
When I'll say that something,
I want to hold your hand,
I want to hold your hand,
I want to hold your hand.

Oh please, say to me,
You'll let me be your wife.
And please, say to me,
You'll let me live in luxury.
Now let me hold your hand,
I want to hold your hand.

Imagine there's no aunts.
It's easy if you try.
No worries in House of Mirth,
Around us only riches.
Imagine all the pleasures,
Living the luxurious life...

You may say I'm a beauty,
You're not the only one.
I hope someday you'll love me,
And the world will become forgiving.

All you need is Good Social Standing .
All you need is Good Social Standing .
All you need is Good Social Standing , Good Social Standing .
Good Social Standing is all you need.

Then we can live in the House of Mirth,
House of Mirth, House of Mirth.
No more sadness, in the House of Mirth,
House of Mirth, House of Mirth.

Oh yeah!

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Unless the 2013 sports illustrated swimsuit edition fits a task I got nothing. How bout a joke instead.
3 women go to the shrink for help with their compulsions. The doctor looks at them and says to the first one "well its obvious your obsessed with sweets I mean you named your kids Honey and Candy." Looks at the next woman and says your obviously addicted to money your kids are named Penny and Benjamin." He turns to the third woman, but before he can speak she jumps up out of her seat and yells to her kids. "Cmon lets get out of here. Lets go Peter and Richard!

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19221 comments Lol Travis.

I am also glad the VD comment was not unnoticed. I can't stand Valentine's Day, so they are slightly comparable for me. Although I understand others enjoy such days, so far be it for me to begrudge anyone who has a lovely day.

Just don't call each other Schmoopy in front of me.

Back from the coast and I have two books to finish. Really enjoying both of them but I have some reading to do in the next 11 hours!

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY

The Bridges of Madison County!
That's what brought you to my door
Where I found loves deep passion
I had never known before.....
The Bridges of Madison County!
Yes, that's where I want to be.

I found simple pleasure
behind your kitchen door
Where we ate and drank some brandy
and we danced across your kitchen floor

I had searched the world for beauty
through my camera lens.
And unexpectantly found true loves passion
around a dirt roads bend.
On a hot, august day,
in the late afternoon, when the dust blew past
Roseman Bridge in Madison County!

So many years have passed
and I am growing old
But I have never forgotten the one I want to hold

You are in my heart forever
there you will always be
One day we will be together...

The Bridges of Madison County!
That's what brought you to my door
Where I found loves deep passion
I had never know before.....
The Bridges of Madison County!
Yes, that's where I want to be.

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I've got one book to finish, and I have to read a scetion of a book. I listened to The Cove at work today, but the second disc wouldn't play. Ran to the library on break and got the book so I can "finish" it.

Thought of trying to stay up all night, but I know I'm going to nap at some point. Gotta get some reading done now, and will check in a little later.

Gaeta, I do know what you mean. On the plus side, I've read some guilty pleasures and 2 authors I've not tried before, and will look out again. On the down side, I've read some dross that I don't intend to revisit or seek out sequels to any time soon. But sometimes the dross just makes the good ones stand out even more.

message 393: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments Helen, you are so right, but there can be dross and then there can be DROSS! I've enjoyed my Toppler too, mostly, we all know what I didn't like, but at least I got that book out the way forever. Going to go finish my last two books, as I had a night out last night so didn't get any reading/listening done.

Go stinkers, get those final points in!!

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19221 comments First book read. With 2.5 hours to go.

Finished Grave Witch which was quite fun fluff. Detectives. Fae. Murder. Magic. Fun!

Do you think Love at First Bite works for a book where the main character is a witch (view spoiler)

message 395: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I have finished book #4 which was the brilliant Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. I absolutely loved this book, it was crazy and surreal but it was such an intriguing read. 5 stars from me :)

This is the last book I will be reading for this toppler. This was my first toppler and it really has been so much fun! I am looking to forward to joining in with many more.

Good luck Stinkers!

Glad you have caught the bug and good work on 4 books. Now I have 30pp to go on book two...

message 397: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Thanks Rusulka!

Perfume is definitely a marmite book, I can see why a lot of people don't like it. I found it a bit hard going to start with but it won me over in the end.
