The good news for me I finished Les Mis. Bad news it has nothing to do with the toppler I just had too many hours this week tied up into it not to finish it. Started Anna Karenina made it about 4 chapters and my battery died so that be that for today.Done 2/13 Anna Karenina. Heart wants what heart wants
edited my post above with link to review of my first finished bookand entered the 2nd book I am starting now.

"It was really good! It's much more about Scarlet. We do get a bit of Cinder and Kai, so are kept in the loop on their difficult situations. But, most of the story is from Scarlet's perspective, and she's a great character.

Nice to hear from you, Lori. Off to a good start!"
I finishedThe White Queen!!!!! This is the first book, in a long, long time, I have started and finished in the same day!!!
That must be a really good book Lori. I haven't read Philippa Gregory yet, but hear good things about her books.

Finished my second book,
. Cute YA book, a cross between Pride and Prejudice and a fairytale. Now off to choose my next book :)
I'm 100 pages into book 2 - Keep Me Close. That was before bed last night. I'm now up, but have stuff to do today - pack, for instance. Find passport. Make sure I have enough toppler books for 3 days and 2 flights (plus associated hanging around at airports time). I'm sure I might find some time in there somewhere to read a bit more...
Still going with The Thorn Birds - too awkward to hold and read in bed, so I also started Catching Jordan for a bit of First Love!

Italy, near Treviso to review a supplier's production line. Should be interesting - it's a component that's new to us as a business. And the town is supposed to be very nice.
Just wish I didn't have to fly to get there - flying scares me silly. Hence the nose in the book approach.

Helen wrote: "Just wish I didn't have to fly to get there - flying scares me silly. Hence the nose in the book approach."Can you try my approach with Valerian root and G&Ts? Depends if you need to work when you land of course. My international flights for work are at least 5 if not 7 or up to 28 hours long, so my system works great. I hate flying.
That being said, I love travelling, so I hope you have a lovely time in Italy and get to see some things besides work!! Travel safe!
I have gone down the chemical intervention route and have a stash of tranquilisers. Not enough to knock me out, just enough to take the edge off the rising panic. Fortunately we don't start working until the following morning.
2/3 of the way through Keep Me Close, so thinking I'd be best to finish that today and pack a couple of other options to take with me.

*cracks knuckles*Been a bit busy this Sunday, most was expected. However have finished my fruitcake book (I hate leaving books unfinished) and have read a few pages of Dead Until Dark.
I'm going to head to bed and read a few more.
Benefit is to all this unexpectedness this week is that I may be able to spend some time on the last day of the Toppler reading on the beach on the south coast of Aus. And there are very few places better than there.

Figured this was the least spoilery one, as you find out Sookie can read minds on the first page. If telepaths don't count as psychics or mediums, it would count for First Love too
You guys have been busy while Almeta and I have been sleeping. Nice to see Rusulka join us.I almost finished my 2nd book last night, but just couldn't make it. I'll get back to it in a few.
Gotta fix last night's filet mignon for breakfast; steak and eggs. YUM! We ended up just snacking yesterday, instead of cooking our steaks.

Finished The Cat Who Went to Paris, the amazing story about Norton, and am now starting Love in the Time of Cholera.
I'm book 2 done. Keep Me Close.
And England are up against the Irish - the world is looking up.
Bag packed, just need to add books.
Shoes need a polish & dinner to go on.
but you can't let real life get in the way of a book!

Huzzah, first book done! The Thorn Birds. Now, to see if I can find another book I can finish in an evening....
Kat - I'm interested in your thoughts about the book as you said earlier that you see it differently now to the first time you read it.
The biggest difference was definitely the relationship between Meggie and her mother - I remember when I first read it I thought Fee was a cold fish - but now I can understand why she kept her emotions so tightly in check. It also made me think about my relationship with my own mother - I always felt she had favoured my brothers over me, but as I get older I think it was just that she realised I was far more independent and that they needed her in a different way than I did.
But I still loved the book, just have a different appreciation for it now - plus the descriptions of Australia made me a wee bit homesick :)

Congrats, Kat. That's quite a feat!
I don't remember much about the book other than it was big and I enjoyed it. I read it waaaaay back when!
Pretty quiet around here.... what's up folks? And we are missing 6 team members. Hope we hear from them soon.Go team LOVE STINKS!
I probably won't finish it tonight, but I've started on Jack and Rochelle: A Holocaust Story of Love and Resistance - not sure where it will fit in, maybe Crazy Little Thing!
Just finished my second book, The Rose Garden. I enjoyed it much more than Fifty Shades! Now I think my husband wants to do something, so book 3 will have to wait until a little later.
Shame how other people interfere with our need to read, read, read. Gotta give our family their quality time, right Julia?
Started
last night and am going to read some more after this post. So far it looks like it'll probably fit Crazy Little Thing Called Love. The dogs and I had fun at the dog park, but I didn't get any reading done. Now we're all settled in. Uh oh, where's Jingo? I'd better go see if he's up to no good :)
I know! He asked me if I was planning to read all weekend. My response was ".....Yes?" Oh well, guess I'll give him an hour or two. :)
Finished my second book The Misremembered Manand updated my thread.
It ended up being a bunch of wooing and the main characters finding out they were really brother and sister.
