I ordered this book directly from the author as a gift for my daughter. It was a cute story with excellent illustrations. My daughter went crazy when she saw the cat on page 9 LOL. Kieran wants to be a pirate, so his family members give him various items to make the perfect costume. I liked the repetitive use of phrasing (similar to Dr. Suess); that helps kids learn to read better. I especially liked that it contained words meaningful to children, such as "Grandma" and "Auntie." I just hope Kieran does his pirate impression around a kid his own size next time :). I rate this a 4.5 so it's a 5 on Amazon and a 4 on Goodreads.
