My Santa didn't have a Mrs Claus. He was alone. So alone.

My Santa didn't have a Mrs Claus. He was alone. So alone."
Thud. That was me falling off my chair laughing.

I read an article about bad office Christmas parties last night on "Ask a Manager" (man, that website is the biggest rabbit hole for me). The one that made me laugh the hardest was the Elf on the Shelf who was set up with a naked Barbie doll, and a straw to snort hot chocolate powder through. And this was done by the legal department! to the HR group!!

Ha! I bought her from my work & promised to show a picture of my table setting.
One woman (the youngest, but as blind as a bat & too vain to wear glasses) peered vaguely at it & said, "Is that your husband!!!"
Huh???? Did she think that was me??? My hair is magenta (from Steampunk) not green!

You're wonderfully fashionable now - I see young girls all over with their hair dyed white or the palest blondes and greys!

True! But, unfortunately, now it looks natural on me... The funny thing is that I was in high school, doing the usual high school girl thing, dying my hair and being moderately odd, and then one day I just said, "I'm not going to dye my hair ever again." No particular reason, just decided, and I never have again.

I got a Santa a girlfriend (thought he looked a little lonely!)
"Wowza, she’s an armful all right!

Thank you, I couldn’t place her - I was going to say Mae West, but Ursula is better!

Yes, Karlyne you are in vogue- and we’re ahead of your time!

The Reading the Detectives group is reading this title this month though. Very good group, motivated, knowledgeable moderators.

Scroll down to the buddy reads folder. (I'm all about spreading the Heyer love!)

Karlyne, revisit dyeing, and try pink! Pink hair looks grand on everyone! If you get a color shampoo, it only lasts a few washes.

Too late! The whole concept has passed me by - although I may paint my toenails! Next summer when they're actually exposed to the light...

I always wanted to go cobalt blue!
My hair was meant to be purple but it went magenta which looked more steampunk. It hasn't faded at all.
We had a face painter staying with us (we are now doing Airbnb) & she painted mistletoe on my face. It got smudged & we saw her yesterday. Tracy couldn't stand it & redid my face. Sigh. Most of it all over my pillow.

Wow! Love it! Good for you Carol!

Mistletoe on your face? Watch out for people running up and kissing you!

Ha, not working set me free!
My husband has a good photo of the two of us from steampunk. I'll post it later.

Ahaha! How wonderful - well prepared for next year!

I posted some hair pics (both older and from today) in my profile. Yes, I am outside, visiting Raleigh North Carolina, where it is a surprisingly balmy 60F / 16C.

If you drive, please be careful!

Very pretty colours! I like the gradient (if that's the right word!).

If you drive, please be careful!"
We'll be very, very careful, because I have developed a faint heart over the years. But we're well equipped, 4 wheel drive truck and decades of experience behind the wheel. (I keep telling myself!)

"
You’re a lovely Christmas fairy!

Be very careful out there, Karlyne- grateful for your four-wheel drive!

Yes, we have one often-ugly stretch of freeway to get to the kids' house in the morning, and then a big "hill" and a moderate canyon to get up north. I'm hoping we'll hit it all between storms!

More sunshine! Lots of it for the holidays!

Docs again today. Kidney infection as well now. Two lots of antibiotics for the next two days then down to one. Rotten dose but I'm going to enjoy Christmas. Rest, rest and more rest. I need it!

Best healer, I think. Take care of yourself and rest up!

Sunday is our big holiday. My dad's family is Italian-American and we celebrate the feast of the 7 fishes, which I hate. I keep pushing for 7 cookies to honor my mom's Norwegian heritage instead. I think we almost have 7. I may have to buy some since I ran out of time for baking.
Monday I assume my siblings will be over bright and early with their evil offspring to open presents. I went a wee bit overboard with the kids this year. It's all the 9 year old's fault. She's so gosh darn cute I got her a nice gift and I have to make sure the other 3 have the same size box with the same amount of money spent! The girls have mostly been good but not so much the boys.... Anyway, they all get an activity kit or two and books.

Good luck with all the evil offspring, QnPooh!
