Initially, I was shocked at out how Shahrzad was speaking/acting to Khalid because the main point of volunteering to become his wife is that she wanted to beat him and get revenge for her best friend that had died at his hands, while not dying, Thus, I was confused why she was outright rude to the man that held her life in his hands.

Also, I was intrigued when Tariq claimed that he would wage a war against the King. (hide spoiler)]

Wrapped up The Rose and the Dagger.. thoughts.. it was definitely a page turner. (view spoiler)[ Tariq was especially annoying in this book.. he was so immature and made so many mistakes, I wish he would have gotten something right.. but till the end he just never learned. I wish she did more with the whole destroying of the book and curse.. I didn't expect that to turn out to end so easily after the first whole book and half of the second is basically all about the curse. (hide spoiler)] All in all there were some loopholes that were quite noticeable, but i still loved the story! p.s. the ending..
