SOLVED. YA chapter book 90s - teenagers all work at a pizza place? [s]

I think this book may have been part of a series - apologies in advance because I remember very little about the details. The kids were in high school, the books were told in the third person, and they all worked at a pizza place. I remember one scene very specifically, where a girl was going to break up with her boyfriend at a mall, but instead they just started making out and another of the characters witnessed it. I feel like perhaps they lived in a small town out west, but couldn't swear to it.
