Bette is one of the main characters you're thinking about. She is the one Alec broke up with. He is dating Gigi after that. Bette has been harassing Gigi too. Well some other people were but not sure because all the answers haven't been revealed.

Adele is the one who got special treatment from Mr. K and she is Bette's sister. Adele never said anything sexual happened with the coach but she kind of implied it to Bette. So of course Bette tries to seduce Mr. K into getting her role back. Ugh that scene was horrible and made me cringe so much.

I just realised that it's multiple POV, and I am even more excited now!!
I like the writing, the way Cassie's chapter is written, it's reads exactly like when we watch a show/movie, and the main character is narrating things in a neutral tone. (idk if that made sense.)
I have never been interested in dance. So I know absolutely nothing about ballet. Though it's a common thing I have seen in movies or books about dance/sports, characters have to try so hard, practice for too many hours, whether because they themselves want it or for their parents. (hide spoiler)]

I am liking the writing style too much. You are always in the person's head, and see almost NOTHING except what's in front of that person's two eyes.

I did like the scenes when the accident happened and they all were drunk so none of their thoughts were clear. But then, it suddenly dropped all the momentum.
I especially hate it when authors skip over large chunks of time, after an important incident happens. I wanted to see all the immediate effects of Gigi's injury on everyone!!
One of the most unsatisfactory endings! :/

First quarter - (view spoiler)[I love stories set in academic settings and this place of elite ballet training is no different. The competition between the girls is rife and it seems backstabbing and hatred is as normal to them as the gruelling regime they undertake to be the best. I wish there was a bit more of a focus on their actual training at this point, though. (hide spoiler)]

Second quarter - (view spoiler)[I'm listening to this book via audio and my only major criticism at this point is that many of the girls' voices blend together.

I felt very sorry for the girl who was lining her clothing with extra weights to be above the expected minimum. The woman who weighed her was very harsh and I understand her job is only to ensure the girls remain healthy but she did nothing to examine the mental strain that could cause her eating disorder. Through this scene we got to see how strict the rules are and how easy it is to fall foul of them and be forced to leave the academy.

Many of the girls make terrible decisions and feel terrible for it but instead of apologising or admitting their wrongs they cover them up with bitchiness, or pills, or any other coping mechanism. It is so sad! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 34 - (view spoiler)[Even when these girls are acting like horrors the multiple perspectives allows me to feel sorry for them. They are all suffering from other areas in their life, whether that be Bette's family life or Gigi's heart condition, which they cover up and then causes them to lash out wherever they can.

I was wondering who was hazing Gigi, if Bette isn't to blame for all of it? I didn't expect Eleanor. Pushing glass into her ballet slipper was a horrendous act and horrific to read about! Gigi seems so genuinely sweet! (hide spoiler)]
