The other thread was made after this one and I had let the creator know about it but only the mods can delete the thread. So I say we use this one.

I'll most likely still be reading it next weekend; however, my son is coming up from Los Angeles to cover for our pastor who is going on vacation. I'm so excited because I've only heard my son give a sermon in person maybe 3 or 4 times ever. Then Monday starts our Cousins Camp! YAY! So my point is I'm going to try to finish it by Sunday night.

Finished Ch. 40

I read all your spoilers and agree with all of them, of course.

I don't recall something falling out of a pocket, so either it'll bring it up again or it was no biggie.

I REALLY like Natalie and hope that she's okay. I was really upset and felt bad when (view spoiler)[she was running for the gate and those two naked girls beat her to the punch. (hide spoiler)]

I love how Thad and Charley with an e-y's relationship is developing. They seem like a good match...both are intelligent, hit things head on, care about others. I love their sweet romance.

I agree about Bart and I haven't liked him since day one. It's doubtful that his character will change, but you never know. I still have about 1/3 of the book left to read. LOL

I am missing all the allusions to The Lost because I've never watched it, but it would make it more fun to read and perhaps even help with my understanding of the book if I recognized those.

I hope that Rives can be (view spoiler)[a good leader for all of them. I didn't quite get why Thad stepped down. Either I missed something or he needs to focus on Charley and himself or maybe even just himself. (hide spoiler)]

I feel like the island is like a person, at least it's being personified throughout. And the (view spoiler)[sabotage...I wondered if that is someone from NIL or like NIL is "alive" because of all the personification. Just "thinking aloud" here. LOL (hide spoiler)]

Haha, I just started Ch. 41 and (view spoiler)[Natalie made it to a gate!! YAY! BUT I am worried about the other side and where they take them. Personally I don't think they are going home. I feel like they are being taken to another NIL or planet or something. I don't know but there's no way if they are going home that it's NOW. Otherwise why book 2? (hide spoiler)]
