An excellent read. Very convincing and spooky. I will also recommend Maplecroft. I nice mash-up of Lizzie Borden and Cthulhu Mythos.

I read this one. While I was reading it, I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking that aliens were sneaking around in my bedroom. Creepy story!

Purports to be real. Hard to believe Mr. Streiber is "the chosen one." I vote for this one...it might be fun to see if other people believe its real, if its a manifestation of Streiber's mental illness, or if its just pure fiction.

message 58: by Walker (new)

Walker | 8 comments The Halloween Man by Douglas Clegg

Any Douglas Clegg lovers amongst us? I've got a handful of his books that I need to catch up on this summer, and I'd love to do it with some fellow horror aficionados. Up there is The Halloween Man, and down here is You Come When I Call You.

You Come When I Call You by Douglas Clegg

You canucklehead....

message 62: by A.H. (new)

A.H. Richards (aldous) I would nominate a book that probably has not been mentioned before. It's John Matsui's Late Bite, a truly original vampire novel. The vampire in question is Dragul Mangorian - a suitably Transylvanian name - but a vampire like no other. He is of the species Homo Sanguinus, who must drink blood to survive, but who are not killed by wooden bullets, threatened by crucifixes or bothered by garlic. It's a unique thriller/horror mix, with a macabre but actually likeable (sort of) vampire. Definitely thinking outside the box.

message 89: by Amber (new)

Amber (ghoulfriends) Superstitious - R.L Stine

Stine is known best for his series goosebumps, meaning that his name will also appeal to younger members of this group. Furthermore, as this is catered to a more mature audience it will, hopefully, be devoid of any stereotypical characteristics of the horror genre.

This sounds like an interesting book.I am not a fan of the vampire genre, but the setting and atmosphere has great potential.
