I read this one. While I was reading it, I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking that aliens were sneaking around in my bedroom. Creepy story!
Purports to be real. Hard to believe Mr. Streiber is "the chosen one." I vote for this one...it might be fun to see if other people believe its real, if its a manifestation of Streiber's mental illness, or if its just pure fiction.

Any Douglas Clegg lovers amongst us? I've got a handful of his books that I need to catch up on this summer, and I'd love to do it with some fellow horror aficionados. Up there is The Halloween Man, and down here is You Come When I Call You.

*deadpan* I noticed."
Gosh darn it!

I'll second the nomination of You Come When I Call You!

I can't take the pressure. I'll just watch TV that month.

Does the T.V. have an act ?

I never really watch it. This will be kind of a new experience for me.

Perhaps it will do something that you can write about.

Harsh, I'm glad that you are enthusiastic about the group read, but you need to narrow down your suggestions to just one or two.
Thanks~

A family is hunted by a centuries-old monster: a man with a relentless obsession who can take on any identity.

I've wanted to read this for a while now. I saw it on a thread somewhere in this group and put it on my list.

What happens to ordinary families into whose midst a child serial killer is born?

This is a classic that I also wouldn't mind re reading and sharing with the rest of the group :)

I haven't read House on Haunted Hill yet but I would love to

Only 4 days to vote, and counting...
This was such a fun thing to ponder, I'm going with my first choice.. nominating The Alienist by Caleb Carr.

Stine is known best for his series goosebumps, meaning that his name will also appeal to younger members of this group. Furthermore, as this is catered to a more mature audience it will, hopefully, be devoid of any stereotypical characteristics of the horror genre.

I actually read that years ago, as a teenager, can't recall if it was beefier than his YA stuff.

This sounds like an interesting book.I am not a fan of the vampire genre, but the setting and atmosphere has great potential.

Thank you~

Yes, I love the feel of 19th century Mississippi riverboats. Fevre Dream sounds fun.

I've had the Alienist on my shelf for like 20 years. Maybe it's time...
