Robert Wright (rhwright) | 30 comments A librarian etiquette question:

If you've messaged a fellow librarian with a question regarding edits/changes they've made, what is a commonly acceptable and reasonable timeframe in which to expect a response:

a) before posting the question to the public forums for clarification, if needed

b) then just going ahead and doing what you think is best

Doesn't come up much, but I haven't seen it discussed.

Thoughts?

Banjomike | 5166 comments You need to know if the person you've messaged has been on GR. Check their postings and edit logs. They might not have seen your message.

Other than that I suppose a week-ish would be reasonable.

Option 'a' is good, discussion is always good. Be cautious with 'b'.
