Lisarenee | 2046 comments For this game list 5 items associated with a well known Paranormal or Urban Fantasy character, series, or author. You can list items unique to them, their favorite foods, or areas they reside (but only if not in the series title), etc We'll try to guess who or what you're talking about. For instance, if I listed:

1) Boston Cremes
2) Cars
3) Bulgari Shower Gel
4) Tasty Cakes
5) Peanut Butter and Olive sandwiches

The answer would be: Stephanie Plum from Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I didn't want to spoil a character's potential by using one of them as an example. So I reached outside the bounds of Paranormal and Urban Fantasy for the example. The person who answers correctly gets to choose the next 5 things and we go from there.
Any Questions?

Here's the first set of 5

1) Redhots
2) Italian Beef Sandwiches
3) Windy City
4) Mallocakes
5) Cream cheese and double bacon pizza

What or who am I talking about?

Judith Post | 130 comments Don't have a clue which character this is, but I love his or her taste! Yum!

Lisarenee | 2046 comments See I thought this one would be easy. lol Just a hint-- there's a reason I used the city's nickname instead of its actual name. The actual city name included in the series's name.

message 4: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 130 comments Uh-oh, if it's what I'm thinking, I've never read that series. But for redhots? Might have to give it a try. And I love Italian Beef Sandwiches.

I used to live in the suburbs of that city and Italian Beefs are one of the things I miss. Don't miss all the snow, but I loved the city when the weather was a touch milder.

Judith Post | 130 comments Have you made your own? It's hard to slice the meat thin enough, but there are good recipes out there. This one's from foodnetwork. The show's host is from "that" city. Fun to watch his show and the restaurants he visits.

Alisa Redhots made me think of Stryder from LOTU.

message 8: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments Since this has been sitting for 10 months, I'll answer but not start a new one. This is obviously Merit from Chicagoland Vampires. Of course that's my current obsession, so it was quite easy for me to answer lol!! I think I'll take the Italian beef sandwich recipe while I'm here though! It sounded delish in the book.

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Funny, I just saw this and knew immediately who/what it referred to. Merit & Ethan are one of my favorite couples. Yum to the whole series!

I know! Me too! How did I miss this post before?!

message 11: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments We must have been busy reading (or re-reading) the latest book. :)

I'll do one, though, just for kicks:

1. Barghests
2. Cobblynaus
3. Selkies
4. Daoine Sidhe
5. The King of Cats

Oh is it the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire??

message 13: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Bingo! Another of my very favorite series! Nice going.

message 14: by Arielle Rae (last edited Dec 11, 2013 09:06PM) (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 161 comments Yay! Guess it's my turn?

1. Rehabilitation
2. Net
3. Council
4. Emotionless
5. Sentinels and Lieutenants

message 15: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments I'm glad I got everyone's attention, but y'all lost me with these last two lol!! Though Arielle's keeps making me think back to Ethan from Chicagoland, who I'm missing terribly during book five. I just don't think Net fits him, unless it has something to do with one of the books I haven't gotten to yet. I'm also obsessed with these books!!

No it isn't him :)
Clue: I'm referring to a whole series, not a specific character

message 17: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments Yeah, I knew I just kept thinking of him because I'm obsessed and half in love with yet another fictional character. I wouldn't normally consider myself goth or vamp obsessed in the way of people that role play or get fake fangs, but my three characters I'm in love with are Eric from Sookie fame, Bones from the Night Huntress series (yum!!), and now Ethan. I guess I have a thing for blonde vamps, since Bones is blonde too for most of their series, he just has to grow it out a bit ;-)

Oooh, sorry you aren't familiar with Seanan McGuire's wonderful October Daye series about the Fae. It is one of the very best around, with world-building second to none. In fact, I have bumped it ahead of several other wonderful series (like Rachel Morgan, World of the Lupi, Mercy Thompson, and a few others) that I love, and moved it into second place in my heart, right after The Dresden Files.

And if you haven't met Tybalt, King of Cats, well...you just don't know what you're missing. Seanan McGuire is a brilliant, and brilliantly amusing, writer. Her Discount Armageddon series is wonderful, too. I want Aeslin mice to awaken ME every morning, with cries of "All hail the Goddess! The Goddess has awoken!"

:)

message 20: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments So I'm guessing it's my turn...

1) Lamb Necklace
2) VW Rabbit
3) Pack
4) Mechanic
5) Shifter

Who is it?

message 21: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Mercy Thompson?

message 22: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments Yep! ;) your turn

message 23: by Marcia (last edited Dec 12, 2013 12:10PM) (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments 1. Goth girl
2. Coffee Shop
3. Blood bank
4. A hearse
5. The Founder

Name the series. Bonus points for main character's full name.

Err I'm not entirely sure, but is it The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine?

message 25: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Yep. Eve is the Goth girl who works at the coffee shop. And there is definitely a blood bank in a town run by vampires. Michael drives a hearse, and the founder of the town is...The Founder. ;)

Do you know the name of the main character? I can never forget it because her last name is the same as a very wicked character from my favorite book of all time, written in the 1930's by Daphne du Maurier.

message 26: by Arielle Rae (last edited Dec 12, 2013 01:25PM) (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 161 comments I can't believe I got it right since I was completely guessing
Main character is Claire Danvers?

And I guess it's my turn

1. Aristocrats
2. Swamp
3. Flash
4. Edge
5. The Broken and The Weird

message 27: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Yep. Mrs. Danvers was the evil housekeeper in Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca," so I never forget Claire. I really enjoyed that series. The very concept was intriguing from the start, and I loved Myrnin.

Now to yours: On The Edge?

1. A puck
2. The Rom
3. Brothers
4. A boggle
5. The Auphe

Hahaha yes we are :D

Aaaah is it the Cal Leandros series by Rob Thurman?

message 31: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Yep! We must read all the same books! Your turn!

message 32: by Arielle Rae (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 161 comments Okie

1. Beast Lord
2. Atlanta
3. Mercenary
4. the Shift
5. Master of the Dead

message 33: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments Kate Daniels?

message 34: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Oh, yeah. I agree. Kate Daniels, and the uber-Beast, himself! Yum.

message 35: by Arielle Rae (last edited Dec 12, 2013 03:01PM) (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 161 comments Yes both of you are right!

Someone else's turn now

message 36: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments Cool! How about...
1) Helsing
2) Accent
3) Gin and tonic
4) Red Reaper

Is it the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost? One Foot in the Grave?

message 38: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments LOL yep. Your turn.

message 39: by Arielle Rae (last edited Dec 12, 2013 03:48PM) (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 161 comments Yay!

1. New York
2. Archangels
3. Cadre of Ten
4. Hunter
5. Seven

message 40: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments I vaguely recognized the Night Huntress stuff.(REad that a long time ago), but I'm not sure at all about this last one. Hmmm. Archangels in NY sounds familiar...like Nalini Singh, but I can't narrow it down.

Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh.

message 43: by Arielle Rae (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 161 comments Yes you're right!

Your turn

message 44: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Oh, yeah, now I remember! I read the first book or two and then kind of lost track. Again, several years ago. I could remember the archangel and them flying from the rooftops of the buildings in NY, but couldn't think of the name of the series. My poor brain is oversaturated with angels, vampires, werewolves, demons, shifters, psychics, Fae, aliens, and every other kind of thing that creeps or crawls through Urban Fantasy. I get mixed up. *grin*

Sue? You got one for us?

message 45: by Sue (new)

Sue (sueshelly) | 24 comments 1. Bruiser
2. Freebie House
3. Ashville
4. PsyLED
5. Angie Baby

The only Bruiser I know is in the Jane Yellowrock books, and I believe Rick LeFleur is now working for PsyLED, but the other references don't ring a bell. But I'll guess maybe Jane Yellowrock?

Ha...you two were posting at the same time. :)

THIS one doesn't ring a bell at all. I love the graphic, though. Hope someone can figure it out. It could be something I need to add to my To Be Read list.

message 48: by Arielle Rae (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 161 comments I would guess that the one Lisarenee posted is the Demonica series by Larissa Ione, but the comment was deleted :(

Who's turn is it now?

message 49: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciameara) | 161 comments Don't know. Still waiting for Sue on the Bruiser one. Now that I think about it, Jane's house IS a freebie, so I'm thinking that one's good, even though I don't know Angie Baby, right off the top of my head.

I'll go next if no one else is playing (wonder what happened to the other post? Maybe it was the graphic?)

Anyway, here's one:

1. Dead people
2. Elvis
3. Bodachs
4. Stormy
5. Fry cook

message 50: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments I think it's Marcia's. I deleted my post when I saw Sue posted. I'll repost the other one another time.
