I'll second The Mechanical. I've had friends finish it and really enjoyed it, and I still have my ARC sitting here awaiting a read.
I'll nominate The Jewel in the Skull - first book in the History of the Runestaff quartet. By Michael Moorcock.
I've been a part of this group for a year now but I don't see much sf. Is this a SFF group or strictly fantasy? If the former, I nominate Old Man's War by John ScalziCheck out this book on Goodreads: Old Man's War (Old Man's War, #1) http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/51...
If not then I withdraw the nomination.
Matt wrote: "I would like to nominate Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher, Looks great!"Ooh, what a good book. If this gets voted in, I will definitely re-read it. Great series overall.

It's not STRICTLY a fantasy group, however the SF books we've gone with (in this case, only Hollow World and Red Rising) were written by a popular Fantasy author on one hand, and had aspects of fantasy in the other.
I personally wouldn't have a problem with something like Old Man's War winning (I love Scalzi), but I don't know that it's with the true theme of this group (which is, theoretically, a branch of Reddit's /r/Fantasy subreddit).
I'll second Malice. Been on my to-read list for a while and I always see it pop up here at nomination time.

As always, rules are as follows:
1) Each person is allowed ONE vote, either a nomination OR a "second"
2) Once a book is "seconded", it is added to the poll list
3) Once five books are on the poll list, this thread closes and voting begins
4) No self promotion allowed - if outside vote stacking or promotion is discovered, a book will be DQ'd automatically.
Thanks everyone!
