That's okay Elizabeth Emily. I think you can go ahead pick your books for any description you want for our second lot. So by the time we finish our first game, we won't start with nothing as you read your part :)

Amy | 2535 comments Just stopped by to see how you are all doing so far? Finished my first book and now I'm just trying to decide what I'm in the mood to read next...

@Elizabeth Emily, did you decide on descriptions yet? :)

message 104: by Mona (new)

Mona | -4 comments I'm reading two books now my heart and other black holes and it is so good. but I can't say that about the other one looking for alaska
by the way looking for alaska is set in boarding school. I hope I will be able to finish my two books by tomorrow.

message 105: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Hmm, i don't like John Green all that much. I'll have to check your review out for Looking for Alaska because i do want to read more of his books. Hope it gets better for you Mona! :)

message 106: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments I'm going to use We need our fourth player! Quick buddy read a book! (GBR & BR&R also count) because I just read a book I haven't allocated a description to but it's fine we can use it for the second time round.

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments I've almost finished one book, review for the book will be coming soon :).

I'm reading another one for tree description now.

I think you can do that, Amy. I mean if you're in the mood to read something else rather than your books for first round just do it and we'll see which description fits it later for second or even third round :D

Whoa...both are buddy reading, right? I look forward to your review of My Heart and Other Black Holes. I really want to read it but still undecided whether it's worth it or not.

And finger-crossed for Looking For Alaska. Hope it gets better for you :)

That's what i thought too but i didn't want anyone to think i was just ignoring what we agreed on haha.

Haha, I don't mind at all, though. I myself often rely on my mood to read some books, even when I already have scheduled some other books :P

message 116: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments That's okay then. :) I like to read a eBook and physical book at the same time so there might be a few here and there that I didn't originally plan (most of the books I have already planned are physical versions)

I think I might post on this thread https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... what we have read and are planning on reading etc etc. because I'm getting a little confused because the second part isn't posted anywhere and I've been referring to Rachmi's comment on this thread way to much haha. ( I go a bit crazy if I can't organise my reading, especially in a challenge lol) Just let me know if you have a problem with me doing that but for now I think I'll just try to organise the descriptions a little.

message 117: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments I actually want to post on that thread, Amy. I'm like you, have to organize my reading schedule. Otherwise it'll drive me nuts since I cannot keep on track of what I want to read and when I have to read it :P

But I have to admit that I didn't know who is supposed to post on that thread, us or moderators as I saw that Sarah has already scratch a few descriptions for us. And I also don't way you feel like I'm taking over our thread because I posted our reading plan in message 19, lol.

So I'm completely agree with your post on Progress thread!

message 118: by Amy (last edited Jun 04, 2015 03:07AM) (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Oh Phew! I was waiting for someone else to post it haha!

I found your comment in message 19 useful but I kept having to search the comments for it. I had a spare fifteen minutes so I just separated my descriptions out a little, if you want to do similar on the progress thread that's fine. I've seen others comment there so I'm assuming what I did is okay. (I hope, haha)

I also found Sarah's comment useful but I don't want to keep bombarding her to change things. :)

message 119: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Haha so we were waiting for each other to post it, that's funny!

I think I'll do the same for my part on that thread later. And since you're the one who posted first and second round, can you update it whenever we finish our reading? :D So that we don't have to bother Sarah too many times.

message 120: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Haha, I guess it is!

That's what I was planning to do, just let me know if you've made any changes to your reading schedule and I'll update the comment. (that goes for everyone hehe)

You're welcome to use the progress thread ☺ I figured it would be a good idea to have a place where we can cross off which descriptions have been completed, and for people to list what they're working on etc. We like lists round here ;)

message 123: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments Hey guys, I'm wondering if I can read Paper Towns by John Green for the description 'a book in which someone goes missing' but in Game 2?? Technically I haven't filled that description in Game 1.

message 124: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Yeah that'll be fine, let me know for sure and then I'll add it to game two on the progress thread. :)

message 125: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments Yep, that's for sure. I couldn't complete it at first, but now that the movie is so close I HAVE to read it!!

message 126: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Okay, I'll go and add it now. There's a buddy read on the 15th if you want to join? I'll be reading it this month too, also because of the movie coming out soon. :)

message 127: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments If I can, I'd totally join. I've got a hold on one copy from library and it should be available before 15th :)

Hopefully I can finish it tonight and start another book tomorrow which is a buddy read.

@Mona, glad to know that MHaOBH is good, I think I read it soon :D

Hey guys, Elizabeth has had to drop out of the challenge, so Sharon is joining your team in her place. She's already crossed off 3 descriptions, so those have been added to your team. You might have to juggle things round a bit, but I think you'll cope ☺

Thanks!

message 141: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Hi, I'm your new teammate, Sharon. I was solo and have completed 3 descriptions already: read a book about bullying (Bully), Read a book by an author, or with a character who's name starts with the letter 'A' (for Alan) (The Time Traveler's Wife), and You wrestled a crocodile for me! Read a romance novel (Break). I am working on my fourth book for Read a book set in a boarding school (Becoming Alpha). Hope I can help you guys out. Thanks.

Amy | 2535 comments Oh dear, that's a shame for Elizabeth but I'm glad you were able to find us someone else, thanks Sarah. :)

@Sharon, welcome to the team thank you for volunteering! :) I'll cross your descriptions off that you've already completed on the progress thread. Let me know if you want to allocate some descriptions so that we know where we are, can share the descriptions fairly etc. Hope you are enjoying the challenge so far! :)

So I haven't been reading much because weekends are usually busier for me but i do have two books on the go, fingers crossed I'll have them done by Monday!

message 144: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments @Sarah It is no problem. I just hope I can help the team out more.

Hi Amy,

Because I was a solo participant before, I already allocated myself some descriptions

Part 1:
-Book with shoes or trainers on the cover (Party Girl)
-Read a book set in a boarding school (Becoming Alpha)
-Pick a playing piece - read a book with an animal on the cover (Avoiding Alpha)
-Read a book by an author, or a character called 'Sarah' (Keep the Moon)
-Winged things... read a book with the letters 'B', 'A', and 'T' in the title (My Heart & Other Black Holes)

Part 2:
-Read a book set in the future, or in the past (after 2041 or before 1989). (The Scorch Trials)
-Read a book featuring an orphan (The Book Thief)
-What year is it? Read a book published in 1995. (Where The Heart Is)

Part 3:
-We need our fourth player! Quick buddy read a book! (GBR & BR&R also count). (Looking for Alaska)
-It's a stampede! Run! Read a book whose title starts with the letter R (Reasonable Doubt)
-The floor is quicker than the sand. Read a book with a beach on the cover, or set at the beach (Someone Like You)
-Need a hand? We each have 8! Read a fantasy story. (Awaken)

Part 4:
Still deciding on these books.

That's what I had in mind as a solo participant. If you have any other descriptions, I will gladly take them.

message 146: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Hi Sharon, thanks for the list, I've added all of those onto the progress thread. :) The only one I would change is Looking for Alaska, just because the buddy read description is pretty popular and I think we're trying to organise it so we complete one game at a time (if we can) would it be okay to change it to the description below? -

There be a monsoon in your lagoon! Read a book with water or rain on the cover (or in the title)--> Looking for Alaska by John Green

message 147: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I can do Hex Hall instead of Looking for Alaska, it was my second choice. I was going to get the thread for tomorrow. So I can do that one instead. I finished my boarding school book so I added to the reviews. I will take your suggestion for the book with water on the cover or in the title.

message 148: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Hi Amy, instead of Reasonable Doubt I am reading Rival it is the sequel to Bully. I found out that Reasonable Doubt has less than 100 pages so I want to get us the best score possible. Also I have a book for title that start with A and that is A Court of Thorns and Roses. Thanks.

message 149: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments Aw it's sad for Elizabeth. Welcome to the Team Sharon! Thanks for joining us :)

message 150: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments I'm reading Invaded, after that I'll be right on to that 1989 book. If Paper Towns get available to me before August 15, I'll be buddy reading that.
