Okay, so there's book that I read a good chunk of when I was in middle school. I have no idea as to what the title or the author might be, but it was kind of like goosebumps or fear street, except I don't think it was a part of a series like that. If it was a part of a series, then I it would have been more like a continuation of the same story, rather than different creepy stories. It might have been a R.L. Stine book, but I really don't think it was. I don't remember all the specifics of the story, and I never got to finish it, but I will tell you what I do remember. Basically, there is this kid's book series, like goosebumps, that is very popular. When kids read the books, weird things, like what happens in the books, happen to the kids. They mention the series' author's name in the book, but I don't remember what it was. It was something similar to R.L. Stine, but I think it was more campy like "I.M. Fear" or something like that. Also, I believe the book was told from the viewpoint of this girl whose younger siblings were into the books. At one point she reads one of the books herself and gets a really high fever. Also, I believe the author of the books was really allusive and that the girl was trying to find him to figure out what was going on. Please help me find this book if you can. I would like to start over and read it all the way through because I remember liking what I did read. I never go to finish it because I had to move on to other AR books. Thanks in advance.

Chelsea, what years were you in middle school?Could it be a book by Dan Poblocki? He writes kids' horror books and lots of them mention a fictional famous author named "Nathaniel Olmstead."
