Hello everyone,

I have two books available: Idol Hands, and What Lies Behind. What Lies Behind is historical fiction, and Idol Hands is more of a psychological genre-bender. I would be happy to supply ebook copies of either book to anyone interested.

Idol Hands:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

Tara’s life has not gone the way she thought it would: she had big plans for university, and a career, but instead, at thirty-two she’s a community college drop-out, married to a washed-up high school athlete, and working in a dead-end retail sales job. She’s doing everything she can to make her life better, but it seems that the world – especially her husband – is out to get her.

She can pinpoint the moment that everything in her life changed: it was when she fell in love with Aidan Forrest – who just happened to be a part of the biggest boy band in the world, Idol Hands. In a relationship that always had to be a closely-guarded secret, she spent two years hiding from the media to protect his career, until he broke up with her, and broke her heart in the process, leaving behind a secret that Tara has never shared.

When she sees Aidan on a television documentary about the now-defunct band, saying that breaking up with her was a mistake, and that he still loves her, she makes a life-changing, spur-of-the-moment decision that will change her life, and the lives of everyone around her.

Written in a diary-format, Idol Hands is a psychological journey with a twist that leaves readers thinking.

What Lies Behind:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...

Every family has its secrets...Behind the clouds of dementia, Lillian holds memories of a life that her granddaughter Lisa could never imagine. From her childhood in 1920s and 30s Toronto, to a young World War II society bride, through scandal and unthinkable tragedies, Lillian kept her extraordinary life a secret, retreating into a lonely, bitter existence. Curious about her grandmother's mysterious past, Lisa unearths a long-buried secret that may finally bring the truth to light.

Message me if you'd be interested in either - or both - books, and I'll send either a Smashwords coupon, or can directly send the file, if preferred.

Mark Chisnell (markchisnell) | 2 comments Hi,

My suspense thriller The Wrecking Crew is currently free at all the major eBook retailers:

The Wrecking Crew by Mark Chisnell, Thriller Author

If anyone would like to download, read and review that would be great, here's the blurb, links at the bottom:

Drug baron Janac has unleashed a reign of terror in the South China Sea to fund his battle for control of the Australian narcotics trade. When he attacks an old cargo ship on an evil night off the Indonesian coast, it seems he has also found the perfect victims to exploit with his psychotic games.

Phil Hamnet and his wife Anna are sharing a last voyage before the arrival of their twins. Hamnet escapes Janac's attack, but Anna is taken and held hostage to ensure first his silence, and then his cooperation. But when Janac's rogue ex-Special Forces crew attack more ships and men start dying, Hamnet has to decide if he can continue to sacrifice the lives of unknown sailors to save the woman he loves.

It's an awful decision for anyone to have to make, but for a man who's already had the same dilemma - tormented in a lifeboat, adrift in the vastness of the Pacific Ocean - it's a living nightmare.

Janac's first appearance was in Mark Chisnell's suspense thriller The Defector, a #1 thriller at Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de.

M.J. Webb (mjwebb) Hi guys - thanks for the invite. I have a trilogy available in pdf format for anyone who will write a review for each book. You can request one book at a time by PMS, stating your preferred e-mail address.

The Keeper of the Stones (Jake West, #1) by M.J. Webb
Warriors of the Heynai (Jake West, #2) by M.J. Webb
The Estian Alliance (Jake West, #3) by M.J. Webb

Details at http://www.jakewest.co.uk

Please be advised that these books were penned for my children and are aimed at anyone over the age of twelve. Many adults have enjoyed them but the story is supposed to be a good yarn, not Tolkien, and should be enjoyed for what it is.

The Keeper of the Stones
Fifteen year old schoolboy, Jake West, and his best friend, Ben Brooker, have found an old chest in his grandfather’s attic. Hidden inside is an intricately carved wooden box which houses a set of five mysterious stones. When Jake passes his right hand over the crest on the top of the box it opens. The stones suddenly erupt to emit a bright beam of light that shoots up to the sky. It is a portal to dangerous and mysterious worlds, some of which are dark and deeply troubled. In activating the light, Jake has reclaimed a birthright long since hidden. He is about to learn of some strange family secrets. He has also unwittingly revealed the existence and precise whereabouts of this secret weapon, and its guardian.
Jake West is a ‘Keeper’, as were his ancestors before him, responsible for the stones’ ultimate protection and bestowed with the powers he needs to fulfil his destiny. A sequence of events is set in motion which will change Jake’s life forever. Hunted across worlds, he has inadvertently placed himself and those closest to him, in mortal danger. He has also become a symbol of hope to millions. The future of our world and many more is now in his hands.

Warriors of the Heynai
The Heynai bestowed upon the people of Estia one great weapon to fight the forces of evil, a set of five stones which possess unlimited powers. They housed them in a protective box and entrusted it to a Keeper, a guardian chosen from Earth. For centuries, the Stones and the Keepers defended their world against wizards, tyrants and armies... Until the day that two ordinary fifteen year old boys from England broke them.
In ‘Jake West – The Keeper of the Stones’ the boys fought battles, freed an entire army from slavery, and waged war against an evil wizard and his legions of murderous beasts. Now, the beleaguered Rebel Army is marching to the city of Dassilliak, pursued by the tyrant, King Vantrax, his savage beast warlord, Sawdon, and his entire Northern Army. Ahead of them lies a sizeable enemy force which is waiting to spring a deadly trap. They are running out of time and they are in desperate need of a miracle. The only weapon they have lies in ruins. Jake West is the only one who can restore it... But Jake and the seriously wounded Ben have gone home!

The Estian Alliance
For a thousand years it has been coming to this; the epic climax to a series of wars waged between the forces of good and evil.
The fatigued veterans and civilian volunteers of the Estian Alliance are in full retreat, having been routed at Dassilliak. The greatest fortified city in the land has fallen to King Vantrax and his legions of rampaging beasts. Exhausted and demoralised, the survivors of the battle head for the walled city of Te’oull. Once there, they will have to make their final stand.
Outnumbered, outfought and outclassed, they know they cannot evade the pursuit that will surely come. Their backs are almost to the sea and they have nowhere left to run. One solitary dragon aids them, but one is not enough. The spirits who swore to protect them all, the Heynai, are nowhere to be seen.
The Alliance will fight on, but they appear to be doomed. All their hopes now rest upon the Keeper, the boy whose actions will determine the fate of us all.

Best wishes,

M J Webb (Martin)

Knightingale by Stephanie Laws

Evil has plagued this world since the dawn of creation seeking to gain control. One family was given supernatural abilities with the sole purpose of protecting the things in this world that evil must never take possession of.

Samantha Nelson knew she was cursed. She didn't know that her unnatural ability of forcing the truth out of people was just the beginning of her curse, until her family is murdered in a horrific home explosion. Six months later, she finds herself face to face with a Knight Protector, and her life is turned into utter chaos.

When David received his assignment on his twentieth birthday, he was told that his destiny would be entwined with a woman soon to be born, and that his aging would be halted. Since the moment Samantha was born, David protected her from her enemies. As every Knight before him, he does so in the shadows. But David must face the facts that something even deadlier than her enemies is occurring. No matter how much he denies it, he is falling in love with her. When her enemies begin to discover ways around his protection and murder her family, he is forced to make a decision of what is more important to him; his family or his assignment. All it takes is one warning sign of danger to convince him that he simply cannot live without Samantha, and he takes a leap that will change their lives forever. Their only chance of survival is to discover what Samantha's destiny is, and the journey leads them straight to the heart of the Knight family where they discover evil has infiltrated, and it is up to them to stop the evil before it destroys the family and gains control of the very thing that God created the family to protect.

I have two books available for review:

Games of Fate by Kris Austen Radcliffe Prolusio Three Stories of Fates Fire Shifters & Dragons (Fate ~ Fire ~ Shifter ~ Dragon #0) by Kris Austen Radcliffe

"Games of Fate"
Rysa Torres misses information. Loses concentration. Her attention problems randomize her life but she pushes forward anyway, doing the best she can—until monsters activate a part of her she didn’t know she had.

As visions of the future whip inside her head, Rysa realizes the truth: She’s a Fate.

And she will set fire to the world.

All her options explode. Her family ripped away, what little control she had destroyed, Rysa is left with one choice: Will she die to stop the coming flames, or will she allow the man and the dragon she loves to die in her place?

"Games of Fate" begins Fate ~ Fire ~ Shifter ~ Dragon, a new Urban Fantasy series with Strong Romantic Elements by Kris Austen Radcliffe. Set in the open spaces of America, the series takes Rysa and Ladon—and Ladon’s companion beast, Dragon—through a landscape punctuated by unfamiliar creatures: Fates with the ability to see past, present, and future. Ghouls called Burners who devour with fire and acid. Shifters who shape much more than their bodies. And two dragons who speak with color and pattern.

It starts here, now, with one young woman’s fight against a burning future—and against the death of the man she loves.

I've been represented by a major literary agent for years, so I'm no novice, and hopefully my books won't waste your time.

They fall into two main categories: epic fantasy (think a darker, more swashbuckling Lord of the Rings) or New Weird (think China Mieville, only fun!). If either of these sound interesting to you, I'll be happy to send you a PDF for your reading pleasure. Just email me at jackconnerbooks@gmail.com .

I would like to mail a paperback copy to up to 6 people who are willing to review, but I don't know how to set it up. Hello Jerry,
I would suggest you post a message here stating that your looking for 6 people willing to review a paperback copy of your book, which means you would need their mailing address. Also state where you are willing to mail to. Then give a synopsis of your book.
PM is just short for private message, which means members may private message you on goodreads if they are interested, or if you would rather they email you, you can leave an email address. Hope that helps, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask :)

Jerry Ward (jerry6030) My book is “THE EVOLUTION OF WEALTH: An Economic History of Innovation and Capitalism, the Role of Government, and the Hazards of Democracy”. It would be found in the “Civilization” genre if Goodreads had such a category.

This is the kind of book that most people only read when trapped overnight in an airport and it is the only thing left in the bookstore. That is unfortunate: the book is aimed at the ordinary reader who may know little or nothing about economics or history, and it will leave the thoughtful reader with a much enriched perspective on how the world works.

The book first recounts the story of our evolution from chipping rocks in caves to the material abundance that we enjoy today. It highlights the progression of innovations in both technology and in economic and governmental practices that have brought us to the modern world. This story illuminates how capitalism evolved: what it is, why it happened, why it has been so successful in enabling the creation of wealth, and why it is so disliked and mistrusted in spite of its success. The book also lays out the reasons socialism has failed so badly.

With its focus narrowed to the United States, the book addresses how the desire for a more paternalistic government has lead us to a kind of hybrid capitalism. It identifies some of the bigger potholes in the road of our continuing evolution, and discusses actions we might take to alleviate these weaknesses; paramount among these is a major restructuring of the K-12 education industry.

This is a short, easy-to-read book, just long enough to tell the essential story of the evolution of wealth and convey a broad understanding of how our economy works, its problems, and fruitful directions for its future evolution.

I will gladly mail a copy of the book to any of you (in the United States) who would like to give it a try, and who, if you think it worthwhile, will make a reasonable effort to review it fairly soon. (In the interest of remain solvent I may have to draw the line at some point.) I would particularly appreciate reviews by those of you who would normally require the airport scenario.

If I am to mail it to you, I will of course need your address, which you could give me by PM or by e-mail to jerry6030@gmail.com. I would prefer e-mail; my ability to navigate around Goodreads leaves much to be desired.

Jerry Ward

Lovely Whitmore (AuthorLovelyWhitmore) | 4 comments Hello everyone,
My book is titled 1378 Oak Street. It is free today and tomorrow. Here is the sypnosis...Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia in the 80's was filled with fun, friendship and lots of adventure. Especially for me and my siblings, on Oak Street!

We weren't rich, but we learned to take what we had and have fun with it. We played restaurant, made mud pies and had barbecue chicken made out of sticks and dirt. There was never a dull moment as we fought monsters, played chase and took turns riding one bike. It was a time when imagination reigned supreme and dreams were the stuff of life.

Take a walk down my memory lane. Take off your shoes, grab a cup of lemonade and stay awhile...you'll enjoy your visit to Oak Street. A heartwarming story the whole family will enjoy.

I am seeking reviews here and on amazon.

Missy Fleming | 2 comments Hi! I'm a new author just figuring out how these things work. I'd love to get some honest reviews on my novel, Happily Never After. It's a modern day Cinderella with a southern gothic twist.

Here is the Goodreads page:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

And here is the blurb:

There's no such thing as happy endings.

Savannah, Georgia is rumored to be the most haunted place in America. Quinn Roberts knows it is. She's felt the presence of spirits her entire life, investigating and photographing them with her best friend. Only none of those encounters ever turned violent, until now. The menacing darkness feeding off her stepmother has promised she won't live to see her eighteenth birthday.

After a chance meeting Quinn reluctantly allows actor Jason Preston into her life, which has complications of its own. She's not used to letting people get close. Falling for him while fighting for her life, and her family's legacy, only complicates things. Jason shows her exactly what she stands to lose, especially when she's being attacked by the mysterious entity. Each attack is more violent and terrifying than the last.

With Jason's help, she dives into the Roberts' family history, searching for a link between a woman who went missing a hundred and fifty years ago and what's happening now. What they find is a brutal murder and that the ghost doesn't just want to hurt Quinn, it wants revenge.

It wants her life.

R.A. White (rawhite) Hi! I'm R.A. White, a new author. If anyone is interested in exchanging an honest review for a free copy of a reviewfantasy/coming of age novel, please PM me and we can work something out.
Here's the blurb and a link to amazon so you can check it out.
Kergulen
A girl with the eyes of a witch escapes her abusive master, but instead of a happy ending she finds Kergulen, a land where the monsters are only slightly more terrifying than the people. As she struggles to stay alive in this new country, Rima must master the capacity for inner freedom and true friendship if she hopes to create a life worth living.
Rima is not a typical heroine; her misadventures involve universal issues such as racism and self-doubt, but also include the occasional monster or dragon. The entire Kergulenite forest works together to keep Kergulen’s secrets safe from Rima and the rest of the world.
Will uncovering Kergulen’s mysteries give Rima the freedom she dreams of, or will she be condemned because she knows too much?

Ioana Visan (ioanavisan) | 2 comments Hi everyone, I'm looking for honest reviews for my recently released novella The Impaler's Revenge.

Here's the Goodreads page:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

Description:
In a world crawling with vampires, Romania is the safest place left on earth. Thanks to the Little Council, there hasn't been a vampire on Romanian ground in over five centuries. But one day, Liana Cantacuzino, also a member of the Little Council and a descendant of one of the old noble families, is ordered to bring one in, covertly. Enter Maximilien Hess, a thousand years old vampire determined to ruin the existing order of things.

Suddenly, Liana finds herself forced to protect Hess, instead of having the pandurs kill him. With the help from her trustful friends, Rodica Ghica and Ştefan Sturdza, and that of an innocent bystander, Dr. Jesse Carver, Liana has to find out what is going on and what the President is hiding from her. When all is revealed, Hess's secret changes everything.

The first novella in The Impaler Legacy series, a vampire saga like no other.

If you're interested, send me a message and I will send you a free copy. Thanks.

Jordan (malfhok) | 1 comments Hello! I'm looking for reviewers for my nonfiction book on writing craft. It's specifically a book about how to write a one-sentence synopsis for a story, which is something I've found many authors overlook when it comes to promotions. Many authors can't quickly explain what their story is about in a compelling way.

My book is called Finding the Core of Your Story and is designed to help writers master the craft of creating a compelling single-sentence summary for any story they have to tell. It's already been well-reviewed by several authors who have self-published and currently holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Amazon with 17 (unsolicited) reviews.

I'm looking for bloggers or authors (or both in the same person!) who would like a free review copy. I have print copies available to send. If you'd like a copy, just send me a message with your address.

John theSailor (thesailor) | 1 comments A London Editor called The Seven Gifts: "One of those unique and wonderful manuscripts that come one's way all too rarely". But the bean counters could not see a genre in which to market it, so I hope 'Anything Goes' might fit.

The Seven Gifts came to Earth and lay dormant, unknown, like seeds in an empty desert. Then the rains came, as an Angel bearing seven mysterious books. Woven within their stories, far from the eye of a reader, were the simple truths of The Seven Gifts. The Angel chose a young boy to reveal them: one who would endure a wild spiritual odyssey through seven bizarre worlds, at the end of which a lonely white dolphin is the final key to his unveiling of the seven gifts, and the enigma of the Angel, and the mystery of himself. And perhaps the mystery of us...

"A series of beautifully written tales that capture the mind, heart and spirit" and other reviews, plus an excerpt to read, can be found here:

I am happy to send out any number of digital files for review - epub, mobi or pdf.

Robert Spake (ManofYesterday) | 2 comments I'm seeking reviews for three books at the moment - 2 novels and a collection of short stories.

Angelic Hellfire
Angelic Hellfire is a coming-of-age story focusing on Aaliyah, a young woman who ran away from home when she was a teenager. She lives in the worst part of town but always dreams of a better day and an unlikely encounter with a mysterious stranger gives her the final push she needs to rebuild her life.

Tormented by personal demons she embarks on a fantastic journey striving to realise the potential which she knows lies within her. She finds that going home is not always a happy reunion but just as she's at her lowest ebb the mysterious stranger re-appears and offers her an opportunity which opens her mind to the vast possibilities of the universe. Can she step out of the shadows from her past and enter the bright future which awaits?

Fraudulent

It's the late 19th Century. William Traven is returning home to England after four years of travelling. Along the way he feels as though he's lost himself, so he comes home hoping to recapture his lost spirit. However, he's worried that a sense of belonging will still elude him and if he can't find it at home he fears that he'll lose all hope. There's also Eleanor, the girl who promised to wait for him while he went away. He feels an obligation to marry her but he doesn't know whether he can carry out his duty if he doesn't truly love her, or whether he can be the man his parents expect. He's torn between honour, duty and love, and death hangs like a shadow over him as he struggles to find a place in the world.

I, Tomorrow? and Other Stories
This is a bit of a mix, there are some sci-fi, a couple of romantic tragedies, a Greek tragedy and a few other things.

Niramisa Weiss | 1 comments Would anyone like to review The Liar I wonder?

THE LIAR

The book is non-fiction, new thought, motivational genre; Eckhart Tolle with teeth. This is not a book you're going to be able to read quickly, enjoy maybe and then forget about pretty much immediately. This book needs time and consideration, but the rewards may well be innumerous.

I can supply PDF, MOBI, EPUB, let me know if you're interested.

Here's the synopsis:

"There is nothing to fear. Have you heard that said before?

We may hear it in spiritual circles or read it in religious texts. It is a very comforting thought and somehow rings true deep within. But usually we must take it on faith if we are to believe it.

Why is the world as it is? Why have we not been able to eradicate suffering? Why does genocide continue unabated after countless horrific events obliging us, each time, to promise not to do it again? A promise never kept.

Why is the future always like the past? Why are my relationships full of pain, even after decades of self-help? Why is finding the 'God' particle more important than attempting to build a fearless world for the next generations to come?

These are the questions that all of us need answering and have not yet been adequately addressed.

The good news is that the answer is the same for all these questions, and millions more like them. There is a single cause behind all the pain and suffering of humankind. All we need do is understand what it is, stop believing its lies and watch it drift away into nothingness. Then, and only then, will we have a chance at being what we truly are.

There is nothing to fear. Nothing bad ever happened. Evil doesn't exist. The world is illusion. These statements happen to be true but up until now there has only been stark proof to the contrary. 'The Liar' examines these hopeful ideas and provides a clear and definitive argument as to why they must be true.

There really is nothing to fear, quite literally. We fear nothing because we fear lies alone. And lies are not true and therefore do not, and cannot, exist in reality.

QED. But don't take my word for it, read for yourself and make up your own mind."

Liz Bell | 1 comments Hi everyone! I am grateful for discovering Goodreads! Such great exposure. I am a 32 year old chick living in Manhattan and I’ve written two books, NOTHING like one another. One is a YA dystopian novel about a girl who is born into the Illuminati, but is unable to be programmed or brainwashed. She therefore is an outcast among the “Others” (everyone else other than the Illuminati) and her own cult. She grows to see how evil a conspiracy she was born into and quests on a search for her mother who ran away when she was little, and answers. Only 99 cents, give it a shot!

My other novel is an adult fiction work, based on my real life high school bullying experiences (hence the similarities in the name). Listina is an angry bitter alcoholic who is barely functioning and stumbles upon diaries that she knows she is afraid to read. She does, after hitting rock bottom, she knows her spiral downward is going to kill her. She relives every humiliating memory one by one, being bullied by her own friends as well as other girls. Here are links to my social media below. Enjoy!

Rowena (outofprintwriting) Hi everyone

I've just self-published my first novel Searching for Von Honningsbergs - one exhibition, three paintings, an art world scam and a struggle with the true value of art.

Searching for Von Honningsbergs was longlisted for the Australian Vogel Award in 2007. I've recently published it on Screwpulp - a new digital publishing platform changing the way we discover books.

I'd really appreciate anyone who would be kind enough to review my book ... you can currently download for free at http://www.screwpulp.com/?browse&... or I'd be happy to email you a PDF, epub or mobi file - just message me through Goodreads!

Cheers

Dreama Collins (dreamacollins) | 1 comments Hi ya'll! I'm Dreama and I've just published my first book. It's a self-help book that's also motivational and consoling. The title is "I Miss My Daddy" (It's ok to be where you are on your path). This book is currently being put on audio as well and is available on Amazon, http://amzn.com/1500158496

I am open to and encourage reviews and love to do interviews. I wrote this book to help others and to honor my own father who passed away in 2005 so my reasons for spreading the word are motivated by my heart. The last thing he said to me was "Stay the way you are and keep helping people". So, that's what I'm trying to do.

I may be contacted by dreama.nana2@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!

Author: Nathan Calvanese

Email Address: nathan.calvanese@gmail.com

Book Synopsis:
A man with a mysterious gift makes his presence known to the world through the destruction of a major American city, setting forth a twisting tale of romance, remembrance, and revenge.

As a member of a rare and powerful race of genetically-evolved humans known as variants, Cael has the unique ability to manipulate the very fabric of the world around him. Yet, outside of his beloved fiancée Summer Ayers, the only thing he has to show for all his strength is a lifetime's worth of loss and letdown.

His parents and closest friends have all been dead for years, and the only people with whom he could ever hope to relate--his fellow variants--are nonexistent in his life. Only Summer has remained constant. So when an incident in New York City threatens to take her away as well, Cael finds he simply can't let go, turning in desperation to the allure of his power if only to keep her a moment longer. He loses control, and in a single instant the very life of the city is snatched away forever.

Lost and broken, Cael is left to face the fallout of his actions. The world brands him a monster and rightfully so. The government seeks to have him destroyed. Even his own mind begins to turn against him, as a ghostly choir of the lives he's stolen rises up to test his sanity. Still, through it all, the memory of Summer continues to burn in his heart, a memory he refuses to relinquish until the day he can finally set things right.
