I have the movie checked out at the moment, and I really want to watch it, but I know how intense it'll be. Hope you enjoyed the audio version! Thanks for sharing.
Ann, what did you think of American Gods? People tend to have pretty strong opinions of that particular Gaiman novel.

The Christmas kid...and other Brooklyn stories by Pete Hamill, short stories,he writes of old NY as I remember it growing up as a kid there, some stories made me smile, others were quite sad,I like his style of writing, this is the third book I've read by him.

what an awesome loving and giving story
couldn't put it down, finished at 11:30 last night

I started reading The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey for a book club I'm in, and so far it is really good!
Otherwise I still have a little catching up to do, but A Dance with Dragons has sucked up some time. I'll get some shorter books in next. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Last year, I set my personal goal at 75 books. Although I easily reached that goal, I felt like there were times where I had to schedule time to read. I don't like the idea of scheduling time to read. Reading should be fun and relaxing, not another chore on my to-do-list. So this year, I'm aiming for 52 books.
This week's choice should help me hit 30 books. I checked out a new YA novel called Zeroboxer. I thought the premise of boxing in zero gravity was an intriguing one. So far, the book isn't anything special. I have one major complaint, which seems to be the problem with a lot of YA fiction: the love interest turns into something more in approximately half a page. What ever happened to character development?
I also just started Freedom, the sequel to an extremely fast-paced technothriller called Daemon.
I finished The Girl With All the Gifts over the weekend, and I highly recommend it. I don't want to give much away, but it's set in the future after a worldwide pandemic. The entire novel is fantastic, but it's really the ending that sealed the deal for me.
My biggest challenge for the rest of the year is going to be choosing what to read next and attempting to stick to my extensive to-read list.
What is everyone reading this week?
