lol I agree...spending so much time here it has impacted my reading and the books i've ordered from the library has grown! But what a great, great site! The writers as well I've communicated with have been great...have to read their books as well!

I've found that same thing Anthony - I bought books from Amazon, often seeing things on the recommends that looked interesting, already had a stack of "to-reads". Then I came here and found out about so many books that I've since read and enjoyed or look really good and I plan to, and wonder what rock I crawled out of LOL. Many of these books have many people saying how good they are, but I hadn't heard about them until I came here. One good thing for my budget though, I have a great library system available to me and I'm using it much more than I used to. The librarians certainly know me now. But dang, I like to own all the books I really like.
Thank goodness I can listen to audio-books at work.
I think it's fun that there are authors here too Ed. I have enjoyed the contact I've had with a few. I hope more join in.
My name is rob and I am a goodreadsaholic.I have just recently joined and can't pry myself away from the site. I love this site - been wanting something like this for the longest time.
but...I find myself on this site so late at night that I can barely keep my eyes open...I then crawl into bed at some ungodly hour and attempt to read...I'm lucky if I get a page done.
Thanks to goodreads I may NEVER finish another book again!
Yep, I'm addicted to. I was really bad the week I joined. I started on one persons to-read list and then I'd just keep going looking at their friends' lists, etc. until I didn't even remember what I'd been looking at in the first place. The amount of new and different books I've already read and added to my to-read lists is astounding. I love this site.
hello. my name is kyle and i am going to be a goodreadsaholic very very soon. right now i'm just having fun...yeah, right. i "came out" as a goodreadsaholic to mimi privately and am ready to take the plunge and admit my growing addiction to the community at large.
having said that, i want to find a way to "manage" this habit....cause it's fun! i am really enjoying playing with my little book lists and looking at what everyone else is reading and enjoying the company and intellectual stimulation of fellow readers. i had quit reading (or couldn't finish books) for a few years, so am very very excited (and gratified) to be back reading...it's just that i've come back hungry.
we'll all have to find a balance, won't we??

I am really enjoying seeing what others are reading, putting on their "to-read" list, and what they think of books they've read. I've found many books I wouldn't have known about that I have then read and enjoyed. I've added about 200 books to my "to-read" list. Makes me want to read more, so I have some hope of reading them all!
And I also enjoy the company of others who are readers, respect books, understand the pleasure of reading, like I do.
