smart or dumb zombies?

Recently there has been a new trend of smart zombies I want to know your opinion on the idea of smart or dumb zombies

I think like everything else in the medium it can be great when done well. Breathers: A Zombie's Lament was really funny and managed to capture the horror and moral questions as to what makes us human amazing well. The Marvel Zombies series was a another one that seemed to take the essence of zombies and do it justice through rather intelligent zombies.

It's a popular trend that is growing in an good and steady rate, I have seen Marvel Zombies I think it's a great spin-off I have to check out the breathers one though

For the longest time I was a George Romero slow & dumb zombie purist. But I changed my mind after reading which has smart, supernatural, sinister zombies.
