Is a CIP record the same as 13-digit ISBN?

Welcome. :)
Looks like the answer to that is yes, but possibly under a different title?
Googling suspect ISBNs is often (but not always) helpful.

Looks a bit as though I've jumped into this group right at the deep end ;)
Googling the number I came up with the following link:
Guardian Book Shop
I swear that has appeared since the morning, as Google showed nothing at the time.
The link you provided leads to a book which does contain the book (as well as another work which has been incorrectly titled).
Anyway thanks for the rites of initiation.
The swin has been most instructive!

John
PS: (Even as I was writing this, the paperback version of the book has been added in to the Goodreads database)
I have in my hand the paperback edition of this work, which appears not to have an ISBN as such, which I would like to add in to my shelves.
It reads:
"A CIP record for this book is available from the British Library
978-0-571-21704-5"
Am I correct in taking it that this number is the same as the 13-digit ISBN?
I could find no record for it.
Advice on how to add this book in would be much appreciated.
The hardback edition of the book is as follows:
Pilcrow

John
