Gwyn Ogden | 2 comments This book was a large A4 landscape book fully illustrated and written in rhyme. The storyline followed the happennings of one street, each page telling of the goings on in that house. Things like the first family moving out, another family losing the hamster and the fire brigade coming to get it out from behind the fireplace (or under the floorboards)Lovely crazy illustrations as I remember, then the family who moved out move in to the house at the other end of the street. Thats all I remember at the moment we used to lend it from our local library in the late 70's

Emily | 140 comments I haven't seen it for decades, so I'm not sure if the details match (like the hamster), but could it possibly be Nothing Ever Happens On My Block by Ellen Raskin?

Gwyn--I've moved this thread down to the Unsolved thread, so that more people will pay attention to it.

Gwyn Ogden | 2 comments Thanks Emily, I dont think its the one you mentioned although it sounds like the same idea. Was 'Nothing ever happens on my block' written in rhyme? I will check it out though.
