Ava Catherine | 4258 comments @Shirley: thanks for the info-I'm going to check this series out now-It sounds interesting. ; )
You always find the most interesting books!!

@Janice: It just took some time to get into the book due to the flashbacks and the dialect, and I was fatigued due to the toppler. It really is a good book.

Janice (jamasc) | 60019 comments He's one person I can't decide whether or not I like him. I loved him as Kirk in Star Trek, but then he seemed to be so full of himself. Yet, there's something about him. Maybe I should read the book.

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments Have you seen Boston Legal? He was absolutely brilliant in that show. =)

Janice (jamasc) | 60019 comments No, I didn't see Boston Legal. :(

I thought James Spader in Stargate was very yummy!

message 111: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19219 comments Holy hell! That's James Spader?! I watched the movie so much as a kid and it's never, ever clicked. Although the next thing I saw him in was Secretary and that put him in a WHOLE new context.

message 112: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60019 comments I remember James Spader in Pretty in Pink. He was such an arrogant yuppie. But he redeemed himself in Stargate.

Oh yes, he is also brilliant in Boston Legal. The whole cast was pretty good, but those two carried the show.

How is everyone else doing? We're headed into the last (and very short) week of February! You still have time to finish up your selection.

He is full of himself, but there is a lot more to him that's worth finding out about.

And yes, I loved James Spader in Stargate, which led to a love of the tv series :)

lol!

I loved that movie. When people mention James Spader as a "yummy" actor, I love to refer them to Secretary. He is such a different character (and the movie soooo quirky) that it throws them for a loop.

Crash is another off the wall one that he played in.
(Canadian/British psychological drama film written and directed by David Cronenberg based on J. G. Ballard's 1973 novel of the same name.)

There are two movies named Crash. The 2004 R-rated version (which is more well known) is much different from the NC-17 1996 version.

Beware. It will be the difference of Racial Strife and Sexual Deviance.

Chris, you linked to the book, not to your review. Here it is for you. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

And don't worry, it gets easier. I did it the first time I tried too. I had to call my daughter for help. :)
