*ahem* Notice anything about his profile that smells a bit like canned meat?

Did you recently change your avatar? I just noticed it -- Isn't that from Dark Crystal? I bet few people recognize it ;-)

It definitely smells rancid.

This is the final list. No more nominations will be taken.

Why does it always get mucked up towards the end? I have to laugh about it. Really.

I will post the polls later on, when I get time.
Then I will let you know when it is time to vote!

I really don't think your rules are that hard to follow, Lori. Half the time I don't even check in here because I get frustrated. lol

Fiona, Do you need a glass of water, that is quite the cough you have there!

Haha

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

I voted!

Elizabeth (Alaska) I voted too. Seems so many of you have read Fiona's book, it would just be a re-read.

Elizabeth (Alaska) It's OK, Fiona. The Castle may well win, I just thought we'd drum up a little business here.

Carol (caroldias) People should pay more attention on what they are doing...

Michael (michaelhimself) | 5 comments Hmm. Should I vote for Fool by Christopher Moore if I've already read it. Hmm. Sure, I should!

message 73: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaelhimself) | 5 comments Odds are the discussion will be one of the goofiest (and raunchiest) of them all. It's a very ribald tale :)

message 74: by Carol (new)

Carol (caroldias) *sending Sookie energy*

hahahaha

I don´t know if I´d read Fool. There are no translation and comedy is difficult to read in another language lol

message 75: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaelhimself) | 5 comments I could probably interpret the story to you using stick figures and some anglo saxon adjectives.

message 76: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaelhimself) | 5 comments I'll read nearly anything - so it's hard for me to vote, actually.

We have some clear favorites in each category, dont we? It shall be an interesting race to the finish!!

Elizabeth (Alaska) It surprises me that we have a couple of horse races going!

message 80: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaelhimself) | 5 comments Are we voting yet? I thought I was just yelling out comments as others were setting up the ballots?

Going on titles alone... my vote is for "Howl" in Cat.1 and Confederacy of Dunces in Cat.2(I've never read it but always wanted to for some weird reason... this could be my excuse!)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I adore shadow in the wind so want people to get the urge to read persuasion!
I am really curious about the hitchikers guide.

message 82: by Rose (new)

Rose (roseo) Newbie here! I nominate White Tiger by Aravind Adiga.

Elizabeth (Alaska) Rose, nominations are closed. However, voting is open. See the "Polls" link on the upper right of the page.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 1736 comments I think the nominations are closed - I know we have started voting.

Lori (tnbbc) | 10620 comments Mod
why is this so confusing.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to stop the nominations from pouring in??? I mean, I changed the topic title.....

Help me out here!

message 86: by Jamie (new)

Jamie I wonder if it would help to edit the first post of the thread, even though the new title of the thread is pretty self-explanatory.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 1736 comments Close the thread when nominations are closed? It would be kinda draconian, but I guess it'd work.

message 88: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) | 1045 comments You could have one thread for nominations and a different one for voting?

message 89: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

Lori (tnbbc) | 10620 comments Mod
I used to do that... create seperate threads for each phase, but that was just a pain in the ass really. Im being lazy and trying to keep my OCD in check as well....

'oh bother'.

I will try editing the opening post. Lets see if that does the trick!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 1736 comments Anyway, Rose - The White Tiger was already nominated, so you can vote for it over in the polls section.

message 91: by Rose (new)

Rose (roseo) Well, I did say I was a newbie.:-)
I completed the poll, thanks guys.
