I LOVED IT! I pushed the 40 other books I had to get done out of the way and read this one first. *Spankings for me* I liked how this one was more psychological. I can't wait for episode 5.
I really don't like serial formats, but I do like this one. It reminds me of when I used to collect comic books. Every month or two, a new comic book for the one I was following would come out and I'd pore all over it.
Great job, Heidi! I kind of wished that Sirly Eric would read a couple of scenes from this one. There are so many great passages to choose from.
I found this one to be the sweetest one in the series so far. It's a BUY THIS BOOK NOW Be-yotch category.
I felt completely manipulated by this book. My head was going one way with Dougie's thoughts only to be totally jerked around. Thank you :DAggggh, Mat just killed me. That line he's straddling is precarious indeed.
Nikolai, geeez, I just love to hate him.
I don't know if this sounds good or bad to hard working authors, but #5 can't come soon enough. Demanding? Yes, but suck it up, I have needs :)
This isn't a question, unless you want to answer it anyway :D, but I'm more curious than ever about Roger after this episode. He just feels like a wildcard. You teased us with a line from episode...8 maybe??? regarding Roger and I'm crazy for knowing how we get there and what's surrounding that scene.
I wish you both great success with this serial. I think it's brilliant.

Re: Roger, he's . . . an interesting character. And kind of a tragic one too, imo. I'm not sure which line you're referring to, but I can say that Roger starts to play a bigger role in the stories than you've seen so far. Not a huge role--he doesn't become, like, a fourth viewpoint character or anything--but you will get to learn more about his past and his present and he does have a significant role to play.

I'm not sure if I am butting into a private feed here?? So sorry if I am :/I just wanted to say how much I absolutely LOVED your FC books. Volume 4 was by far the best in my opinion. I am so excited to read the next two!
Is there just going to be 6 in the series? (excuse my just in that sentence) I would love it to go on forever. Gosh that sounds like I want poor Dougie and Mat to go through eternal torture for my warped minds pleasure :/

Nope, not a private feed--this is the public Q&A/Comment/Rant thread for whoever wants to hop in :)
There will probably end up being 18 episodes in the series, but Heidi and I aren't exactly sure. We've just wrapped episode #9, and I *think* that episode #10 will conclude Season 3 (though that miiiiiiiight end up going to episode #11, but probably not). The way we've plotted, it looks like there'll be five seasons total.
Also, thank you for the very kind words--I'm so glad you're enjoying the direction the story's taking! :D

I just got caught up in this series. I was going to wait until it was finished but I am weak willed I guess ;) I just have to say that this one messed me up the most. Poor Dougie. Poor Mat................I just love Mat. I don't know what exactly it is about him but yeah I want to virtually punch Nikolai in his stupid face every time he tells Mat his life will suck. Jerkface.

And no, nothing wrong with liking Nikolai. Heidi and I are both quite fond of him as a character, even if he is an utterly despicable human being. He's very compelling despite it all.

Yeah lol... the series does pull you in.....
I think it's a very intense series. Nikolai I hate, but I may change if I know more about him and his past. This torture and brainwashing of Dougie and Matt is scary and creepy yet I can not get from it and want to read on. This series is my favorite and I'm waiting impatiently on the next volume comes out.
I am very glad to know I could buy this series on Riptide and I continue to buy books there.

There are so many aspects of psychology in the series and where you see how far a man can go under pressure and torture. You must surely also have studied this thoroughly from what I can read and therefore the series is much closer to reality than fantasy.

I think I have the secret to serial/episodic series. You just have to be reading several at one time, that way one is always bound to be near release and you'll have that one to hold you until the other series' episode is due. Does that make sense? At first I didn't think I would like this book style, but now that I'm reading about 3 it's totally working for me. Just like with a favorite tv series, it's something I really look forward to.
