Woo Hoo! Nice that he has choices. Have you visited? The cow college down the road has a pretty good engineering school. Where is he leaning? My Madeline had no idea either. We spent a ton on college visits and she ended up at Agnes Scott. Originally loved Goucher, but it offered her no $ for scholarship, and Agnes Scott just felt great the minute we stepped on campus. My youngest has visited a ton of colleges, did not have the grades to get into all of them, so yes, it is an experience. Pain yes, but what a nice problem to have. It's good to have choices. Cheers.

It was everything that came with it – the petty barbs, the condescending remarks, the general sense of superiority from a fan base that derived a disproportionate amount of self-esteem from the success of their football team. I didn’t care so much that they kept winning as much as they were assholes about it.
Here's to another few decades of losing football in Ann Arbor.

I'm a student at the moment, but I'm (hopefully) gonna be finished in October. I study business administration with emphasis on the food industry (for me, especially the tea/herbs/spices industry).
I love reading in general. At the moment, I read many business/food books (duh...), but in my free time I like the fantasy/horror genre, especially books from Terry Pratchett.

This is such a great group. You can say any liberal thing here and be accepted. If you disagree with the majority, it doesn't matter; you will still be liked. NOT. Liberals love everybody and reject no one - unless you disagree with them ; then they're not so nice - pretty mean, actually

Hello! I'm Theresa and I call Columbus, Ohio my home. I've been scrolling through your group threads trying to get a feel for what this is like. I get the impression I won't truly know until I join. So here I am. My first "grownup" job was as a circulation clerk in a little county library in southern Ohio. I loved it! Now I do marketing and help a little team of commercial real estate brokers live their best lives. I'm like their Girl Friday.
Books - my tastes are all over the place, but I think I settle on horror and suspense more often than anything else. But to prove my "all over the place" statement, I'm currently reading To Keep the Sun Alive and I absolutely love it.
I hope I haven't bored anyone to tears. I don't live a very exciting life, really. I'm happiest at home with a book in my hand and a cat in my lap.

Hi All! I'm Kari (that's my pen name...I have self-published exactly one novel, which I expect to by my only-ever book!).I live in Chicago, IL with my husband and awesome dog.
My reading tastes have evolved over my life: originally mysteries/thrillers (Robert Crais, Peter Robinson are faves). But then I moved to true crime (Michelle MacNamara, Ann Rule, and the requisites "Helter Skelter" and "In Cold Blood").
While I still enjoy those genres, I've added some memoirs and coming-of-age books to my list. Currently reading "The Vibrant Years".
I recently waded into the BookTok community despite being a woman of a certain age. It's very entertaining, but you see the same books reviewed again and again. I'm hoping to learn about some different book recs on this group.

It has been quiet in here for a few years, but this used to really be a hopping place. I think you'll find if you contribute others will wake up.
I hadn't read any Robert Crais until last month, when I read the first three Elvis Cole books. I like them so far - they remind me just a bit of my old favorites (Spenser books) from Robert B Parker.
My wife grew up in Chicago - south suburbs. Most people we meet lived/live in slightly more upscale neighborhoods. :)
