Yay! It's hard to decide. My suggestion is to click on a couple of friends or fellow YLTO profiles, go to their bookshelf and sort by which ever thing you're looking for (author in this case). It's what I do!

I chose the same Yoko Ogawa's book too and realised later that it's short by just 20 pages!! Quite frustrating eh?

George Orwell is the classic. My favourite book last year was Purge. I just read Anil's Ghost this month was great. My must read by the end of this year is The Rook. And The Tiger's Wife is supposed to be good.

Yep. But my challenge is with the first letter of the title. So, I chose The Help.

How about George Orwell? Most of his books we can get easily.

I want to read Anil's Ghost. Most reviews are very positive. But my book A's already taken.

Another suggestion is Wesley the Owl: The Remarkable Love Story of an Owl and His Girl. It's a fun read about a woman and her owl.

That also sounds quite intrigueing (did I spell that right? It somehow looks wrong). Now I really have to decide between all the interesting reads.

I´ve finished the first book for the alphabet challenge, yay. Luckily I could combine it with the February toppler.

I really liked Midnight Riot, I think I might continue reading the whole series.

I´ve finished 14. I did not like it, it was just missing something though I can not quite put my finger on what it´s missing. But I was definitely tempted to put it aside a couple of times.

What did you think of Geisha?

I wrote a little review but I don´t know how to link it :-)... In a nutshell: I really liked the book, it was quite interesting to learn more about this fascinating world of its own and I´ve found out that a lot of clichees are not true. What I did not like unfortunatly was the author as she kept on pointing out how great she was as a geisha, how beautiful she looked, how everybody was jealous of her, how the other girls were so mean because they wanted to be like her etc.. That was a bit annoying. But overall I would recommend this book!

Thanks Alexandra. I have had this one on my shelf for years since I read Memoirs of a Geisha. Just never got to it. I am glad I have a heads up about the narrator though.

I had heard that Arthur Golden based Memoirs of a Geisha on this woman. I may have to read it in spite of the fact that she's a bit egotistical.

The facts that one learns from this book are quite interesting especially if you´ve read Memoirs of a Geisha. It seems to be a fascinating world of its own... I can really recommend it and the part about the author might be just my personal impression.

Finished . It is such a moving story and I can only admire Carolyn Jessop for her strength and braveness. I can highly recommend this book.

I don't think it is just you, Alexandra. I felt the same way about her. I read Memoirs of a Geisha way back when, and then was interested and read Geisha, A Life. I felt she was very snobby, but look at the life she lead!

Finished reading The History of Love. It is a beautiful book, full of emotions. I could hardly put it down. I´ve been quite lucky with the books I picked lately.

Now I´m moving on to The Girl Who Played with Fire.

I thought The History of Love was beautiful too. I think I had to read it 3 times to really understand what was going on, but I loved so many of the passages. I really liked the language especially.

I liked the Steig Larsson books too. Too bad he passed on and there won't be any more.

I felt the same way about The History of Love, Cherie. I might have to read it again once in a while as I am sure I will discover things that I did not notice at the first time...
