OK Dawn, I'll go first. As a captain of a team it wasn't a problem for me to create the point request posts so I would say whichever way is easier for YOU to keep track of points is the way you should go. Would the captains still create the request posts or would you just monitor each team thread and log each persons posts as they go?
Scoreboard - I really liked it this round. (easier to spy on our competitors!!). I do wish there was an easy way to tell whether team 1 for example had posted through their shoulder book or nose book. That goes with my being nosey I guess.
Future categories maybe directions - up, down, left, right, e,w,n.south.
Relatives - brother, sister, son, daughter, mother, father, aunt, uncle gma, gpa.
Specific Cities or locations?
Senses, tastes, smells, touch, sight - shiny, rough, sticky, greasy, stinky, bitter
medical issues? blind, deaf, handicapped, mentally challenged, depressed, psychotic, burned -- maybe this one is too morbid
i agreed with Sheila until she got to the categories. (LOL) score whichever way works best for you. because this is supposed to be fun.
I loved the scoreboard this round, much easier to view. An individual point submission thread sounds much nicer and I like Sheila's suggestion of using specific cities/locations and relatives. Also, how about:Pets - dog, cat, bird, hamster, ferret, fish, rabbit, turtle, snake, horse
Planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
Occupations - doctor, fireman, lawyer, farmer, pilot, nurse, waiter, janitor, secretary, librarian, teacher
Office supplies - stapler, paperclip, pencil, highlighter, calendar, envelope, tape, rubber bands, paper, fax machine, copy machine

In the past rounds I just followed and logged each person as they posted. Then you don't have to wait for the whole team to claim those uncalled items. I follow each thread anyway, so it isn't extra work.

The hardest part about coming up with items is finding things that could be in a title and on a cover also. Directions, relatives and planets might be kind of hard too. And then trying to make sure they fit accross genres too.
ETA: Food might work though too!

I liked the new spreadsheet. Dawn whatever way of scoring/posting is easiest for you IMO.I like the idea of a food category and occupations.
Could do drinks too wine, coffee, water, tea, beer, cokes, whiskey, hot chocolate.....
I'd love to see it go back to individual scoring. I lost motivation with the waiting, but that's just me. I liked being able to see more of the team threads as well on the Scoresheet. You do an awesome job with this, Dawn!
Thank you for your hard work Dawn!I agree with you Dawn on the scoring....I had no idea who was where or how close anyone was because unless the team had the point....I had no idea how behind we were or not and I could not check my own points because they were not all there...so I just gave up...I felt I was not involved as much this time around because of it....I cared....don't get me wrong but just not as engaged.
I compltely agree about the team -vs- individual scoring. I thought it would make it easier, but it didn't really. Because of the extra items it makes this challenge a bit different from other team challenges and what works for them doesn't work here. Lesson learned I've already decided next round I will update points again as soon as individuals post them.
Well, I have to say- though I liked the added difficulty of the different categories, and there is not much that can be done in regard to random choosing of items each week, the last two weeks have been really disheartening knowing that I couldn't read since the only item I needed was a weather, and not the last two chosen. I wish somehow there could be something... it's like I've just dropped out of even following the discussions because there was nothing I could do to assist my team in points.Again... can't really argue with random choices of items. It just derailed my excitement and enthusiasm not being able to assist... at all.

Katya wrote: "This may sound really dumb....but did someone win?"1st- Nine Lives of Books

3rd- Fearsome Foursome

I was the same Alana! I finished early and that was just kind of it for me, everything went Blah.Glad katya asked who won! I had no idea, and because my team was finished I hadn't had any updates.
Megan! Plants!? Uh uh. I dont think Ive read a book with a specific planet named at all! That would be a real hard one methinks.

I just finalized the list yesterday.
I will wait until the TV guide challenge is over just to make it easier on us Mods. Sign ups should be up later today or tomorrow. The next round should start around the begining of May.

1. Captain Submissions Having captains submit for points was new this round. But I personally found it harder to do than just keeping up with all the threads. I have two options for next round.
a) go back to the way it was in past rounds where you just post in your team thread.
b) have a point submission thread, but everyone posts their own review in that thread. No waiting for the whole team.
Thoughts?
2. Scoreboard The score board was changed this round too. Did you all like being able to see more teams at a time or the previous way where you had to scroll down to your team, but could see the whole team on one page.
3. Other Thoughts? Feel free to share anything else you really liked about the game and things you didn't like. I'll take suggestions for categories for next round too.
