SOLVED. YA group of teens, one previously had an alcohol problem [s]

The book I'm looking for was about a group of teens. It was a long time ago that I read this and I think it may have been part of a series. Some things I remember were:

- One of the males in the group had an alcohol problem, his friends are always keeping an eye on him for this.
- The alcoholic teen was found in a bush after a binge.
- There is a scene where the alcoholic teen is on a roundabout looking at the sky when his friends sister runs over and accidentally knees him where it hurts!
- Alcoholic teen has a crush on one of his friends, but she's dating someone else. He notes she uses coconut shampoo and he really likes it.
-Alcoholic teen may be named Joe.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I remember the Making Out series by Katherine Applegate had an alcoholic teenage boy - called Jake, not Joe. I think he was also hung up on his ex girlfriend, Zoey, who had moved on to dating somebody else.
