Pene|ope • Temp Hyperfixation: WC & OMV (readingfever) | 25 comments I know a lot (most?) of us are YA readers, but has anyone read Austenland? I really enjoyed it, and was so excited that they made it into a movie (produced by Stephenie Meyer and directed by Jerush Hess--my old neighbor!). It was debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, and I've heard it's cute and funny. They also announced that it will be available in theaters later this year.

Any interest in adding it to the watch list, once a date is set?

Debra (wifeecletic) | 58 comments I would be! I just barely read it a couple of months ago and I really enjoyed it. I would love to see it!

yup I read it. Apparently it's a complete comedy. I thought there were funny parts in the book but didn't read it that way. It makes me more excited since I wasn't sure when I heard it will be a movie. My one friend saw it and LOVED it comparing it to Nacho Libre which she also directed

that would be fun to go watch together when they have it in regular theaters

Literally Jen (vampsita) | 42 comments I read it too, and the sequel Midnight in Austenland. I'm definitely wanting to see the movie; Keri Russell (long before she was in Felicity) was a favorite of mine.

Tanya (mommytanya) | 125 comments I had tickets and didn't get to go. Sad face. But I've only heard raving reviews for it. I still need to read the book but I'm definitely voting for it to be listed as a book/movie.

Meghan (MelodiousMayhem) | 20 comments I didn't know it was a book! My husdand's friend saw the movie at sundance and said it was really good. :)

Debra (wifeecletic) | 58 comments I haven't read Midnight in Austenland, is is a sequel or Austenland with different people?

message 8: by Summer (new)

Summer | 12 comments I have read the book and was able to see the movie and Sundance. The movie is definalty more comedy (which I wasn't expecting) than the book. Jennifer Coolidge played the part of Miss Charming and she is what made up most of the comedy. I thought she did great (I love Jennifer Coolidge). Sony has bought the movie so it will be out in theatres this year. :)
