SYNOPSIS
Anna Tate is an anti-social seventeen year old who has always lived to please her cruel and abusive mother. When Anna’s mother sends her to live with her estranged grandfather leaving the only home she has ever known she is forced to confront who she is without the influence of her mother. Anna is befriended by the handsome and taken next door neighbor. She clings to him for emotional support and inevitably falls in love but soon becomes lost and desperate when he does not return her love.
Anna’s life becomes a journey of love, obsession, unrequited emotions and self-discovery as she is forced to choose between a boy that reminds her of home and the unrequited love she's always known and her true love, the one she’s carried in her heart for four years. If she takes the chance on true love she could lose the one thing that has reminded her that life is worth living, his heart.

Hi everyone,I have just self-published a suspense novel entitled “The Scarlet Kingfisher.” It’s about the discovery of a new bird species and the characters (good and bad) who want to be the first to capture and possess it. The story evolves around a young ornithologist (Dr. Beach O’Neill) doing research on a remote river in south Texas. Beach and his botanist girlfriend are drawn into a terrifying vortex of violence and intrigue as an array of villains, both home grown and international, race to be the first persons on Earth to “have” this rare bird.
I thought writing the book was the hard part. I’m discovering that making it visible among the daunting array of Indie published novels is unbelievably difficult. I read that a new book is published on Amazon every five minutes. I’m hoping that some of you will agree to review my work (presently on Amazon and Kindle as of 26 Aug 2014) and that your review will improve its visibility.
