I just read Everneath last week, Sarah. I liked it! A different spin on the dystopia craze. I'm interested to see where the series goes....
I just finished Carnival of Souls and am on to Fragments. Sarah and Jaqueline - yayayayayay Loved both of those!
I'm waiting for the Kindle version of Everneath from the library and it's kind of driving me crazy.

I JUST got the Kindle version of Everneath from the library (SLCPL) today! I also started reading Galápagos over the weekend, forgot how much I love Vonnegut, and I always need something to read on my phone. Apparently, I have given up on GofT for a bit. I try to focus, but get distracted when my holds come up.
I have no idea how you guys can read more than one book at a time... it would drive me batty. I get totally sucked into them when I'm doing one at a time, I imagine I'd have multiple personality disorder if I was doing more than that... ;)

I usually end up focusing on one book, but with long books like Game of Thrones, I try to read a little each day. There's no way I could just sit and read GoT without going crazy. I have too many other books to read :)
I usually have one audio and at least one other book going at a time. Sometimes I have a kindle book and a paper book that I'm reading for various reasons, along with an audio, but I agree, it can get confusing! I try to make sure the topics/genres are as different as I can to help me keep them straight. Too many books, too little time!
That's pretty smart, Sarah! I do this thing called "Project Life" and I put the pics of my books in it to remember, but notes would be easy! Thanks for the idea. :)

I'm also a one audio one regular book person. They don't over lap. I listen at work and read the rest of the time. Every now and then I'll have multiple paper books going because I have a Bookclub book due but usually not.
I don't know how people can just read one book at a time! I need variety and options. I usually have one audiobook going (for work and commute and working out) one physical book (for places I don't want to trust my Kindle, like the pool or beach), a book on my phone (for killing time while waiting) and a couple on each Kindle (the Paperwhite for when my husband is trying to sleep and the keyboard for everything else).I don't want to eat the same food every day, and I don't want to read the same book! I always finish leftovers and I always finish books, just not all at once.
I'm almost finished with Boundless and I'm DNFing Nightshade.
I'm reading: Nightshade, Kushiel's Scion, The Host, and Bad to the Bone.
still waiting to start BC....ack! Wanted to share what my son has been reading in case anyone has any suggestions for what to get him next. (he's a reluctant reader-rather be running around outside-but when I find series that he likes, he devours them!) I'm determined to instill a love of reading in this boy if it kills me!!! ;)He just finished the Maze Runner series and LOVED it.

Of course he loved the Hunger Games series.
He won't touch Harry Potter or anything witch/wizard/mythology based (ridiculous, I know).

Has he read Enders Game? Lots of my high school kids who like Maze Runner love that series. How old is he?

Ideally I wouldn't have given him these books until he was older, but he doesn't really love 'stories'. Even watching TV he'd rather watch shows on how things were made. I remember taking him to the library as a munchkin and he always wanted the huge reference books...or Mrs. Frizzle! He did love the Magic School Bus.
He did like the teenage James bond series and the Alex Riders (I think that was what they were called).
Have you tried non-fiction? Sometimes biographies about inventors, or presidents, or even books about events in history are more appealing to kids. The non-fiction books on my shelves were always the most popular when I taught middle school.

It's a fictional story about the beginnings of flight, so it might be right up his alley.
hopefully you guys are all following me on goodreads cause i start and finish books too often to have a real "currently reading" shelf. {prob cause most are finished in one sitting} especially YA books. i did just read Amber House, which was a mystery book and surprisingly loved it. i definitely wasn't expecting that. i also just read Anna and the French Kiss and it was a sweet story.
i've been eating up the Ranger's Apprentice series and loove them. {on book 12 of 13 i think}

Elizabeth. Here's a great article by James Patterson. About a third of the way in he specifically addresses boys and read and gives great links to resources. http://www.cnn.com/2011/09/28/opinion...I read another write up in the new York times about why boys fall behind in education. It encouraged letting boys read anything from mechanic books to owners manuals to sports stats books. Anything to get them reading. The key is what they like and thinking outside the box. Hth.
Just started Richelle Mead's Succubus Blues. Omg love!!! I can't believe it took so long for me to pick it up. The main character is basically us. Huge reader and über fan girl. At one point someone takes her book and she contemplated beating them to get it back. Definitely not YA for those of you who don't read adult.
I just finished Eve and Once by Anna Carey. I loved both of them but holy cow-the endings! I mean I know authors like to end books on a suspense to get you to read the next book, but I was so mad with both of these endings-ugh. I also just finished Unravel Me. I LOVED it, but almost wished I hadn't read it because now I have to wait a whole year for the final book. So good! I'm going to start Shadow and Bone next.
I hate extreme cliff hangers. I know almost all YA authors use them but it's a cheap gimick IMO. If you're a good writer with a good story I'll come back for book two/three you don't need to try and hook me at the end.Also I LOVED Shadow and Bone.

I just finished With a Name Like Love by Tess Hilmo, which is on the younger side of young adult, but one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. I loved it to pieces.I have The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater waiting for me, but I haven't picked it up yet because I'm still lingering on With a Name Like Love.
I also thought Shadow and Bone was fantastic!
I am taking a much needed break from YA books. They are making me grumpy. Adult fiction here I come!

I just finished The Indigo Spell - Sooooo good.Now I'm taking a YA fiction break and am reading Fire in the Ashes. It's amazing in a heavy tradgic sort of way.

I love it more and more the more I think about it. I just finished Stiefvater's The Scorpio Races and enjoyed that one as well.
The Host just came for me at the library, so I guess I'll start that next.
I just picked up Warm Bodies from the library, very excited to start it. Started Everbound last night(thanks, Marissa, I am greatly enjoying it!)About halfway done with The Host and I just (minutes ago on my phone) finished Sirens of Titans.
Started a A Storm of Swords recently. It is so nice to be back with these characters.
Just started Game of Thrones. Not sure how I feel about I yet. All the characters are quite intense.

Finished Fragments too. It's very much a 2nd book. Good story and interesting stuff but didn't blow me away.
Just started MILA 2.0 can you guys tell I'm working my way through the arcs haha. I'm still not sucked in but I'm hoping it picks up because it's another one I was really looking forward to
