Dan (dan2345) | 84 comments I did not watch it because I decided to watch The Walking Dead instead. I wish I had seen it because Jennifer Lawrence won best actress and I want her to be the future mother of my children. LOL.

Lynn Mccorry | 104 comments I watched it but didn't find it that interesting. I was however thrilled to see that "Searching for Sugarman" got the best documentary. It's about Rodriguez. Don't know how many of you know about him? He's a singer from the '70's who made the most awesome music. I've been listening to him since I was in my teens. He was against aparthied, the establishment, that sort of thing.

If anyone is interested here's a piece called The Amazing Story of Rodriguez - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkPqNa...
It's hosted by Jeff Probst (the guy who does Survivor).

And here is a link to the trailer of the documentary

Lucy | 22 comments Jack wrote: "So, what did everyone think of the Oscars? Did you watch it? What did you think about the winners?"

I recorded it and just watched it yesterday. I fast-forwarded just to hear Jennifer Hudson, Shirley Bassey, Adele, and Streisand sing. One thing that I found very annoying was the volume of the orchestra! At times it drowned out the singers' voices...in this age of advanced technology, couldn't they have figured out a way to make it just a touch less deafening??

message 62: by Peach (new)

Peach (peachst) | 68 comments I will confess to liking the Bee Gees :) They were so big during my growing-up years and when Saturday Night Fever came out, it was huge. It's a little dated now but I still love the movie....and their music.

message 91: by Jack, Founder (new)

Jack (jack_) | 2831 comments Mod
No, I was just trying out a couple of things, but figured the original was best.

message 92: by DENISA (new)

DENISA HOWE | 1697 comments I know how you feel..I don't know why but the image you have up there now... the original speaks to me. Course pictures do speak to us all in totally different ways.. Images of colors and shapes, although art doesn't really reach out and pull me in... but that is just me.

Writing is a good thing Peach... I'm not doing doing Camp NaNoWriMo in April, not really sure what it is lol, but I am interested...

message 99: by Lucy (new)

Lucy | 22 comments Hi Denisa! NaNoWriMo is usually in November, or at least it was last year. Basically, you attempt to write a novel in a month. You commit to writing a certain number of words per day..and hopefully will have a completed work by the end of the month. It's actually pretty good motivation if you're like me, and find it hard to set aside time to write. :)

message 100: by DENISA (new)

DENISA HOWE | 1697 comments oh do you go in person to this event or do you write from home. Man, I'm not sure if I could write a novel in a month or not...I could write a set amount of words per day without a problem but.. I guess saying the nvel word is scary.. hmmm (thinking about it)
