Hi everyone, I've just joined this group. I've been using goodreads for a few months and I'm just getting the hang of it I think! This group seems nice and varied and the current book selections are right up my street. I live in Essex in the UK, my favourite book is probably The Great Gatsby, film perhaps The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (wonder what they have in common!) and music is too varied to pick. I'm hoping to get some more good book recommendations and make some new book friends too!

Hi everyone, I'm cait (Katherine) and I'm loving good reads. Finally have a way to catalogue my books and I'm loving the book recommendations. Ok said loving twice in the one sentence. Not good English. I'm from Ireland and still living here. Back in college at 46 studying computers and 'loving' it. Quite surprised how good I am at the good old programming. My books are my way of switching off after a long day of studying and learning.

Have you read Dream Team: How Michael, Magic, Larry, Charles, and the Greatest Team of All Time Conquered the World and Changed the Game of Basketball Forever yet? I think it came out last year or the year before and it's been on my to-read list since then.

If you're from NY and a basketball fan I'm going to assume your team is the Knicks...however, just because you're from NY doesn't mean you root for the home team. I'm from Orlando and my favorite team is the Mavs. Dirk is secretly my husband; it's such a secret that he forgot and he decided to marry someone else ;) All jokes aside, he's my favorite player and the day he retires will be a very sad one for me.

I do a lot of cooking and reading, and I'm beginning to garden some. For books, I like just about any genre and read pretty broadly. I'm not a huge fan of experimental lit.

Couple of my favorite authors are Jasper Fforde and Matt Ruff.

There isn't too much interesting about me. I'm a teacher specializing in British Literature and Composition.
