Etain Feeley | 2 comments Hi there, Welcome any group for young and old alike and in betweens etc.

Have been reading for years and am now writing, factual, short fiction and reviews, non profit etc, hope to get published later this year, so am reading as much fiction and non fiction as I possibly can, when time permits and gleaning advice from friends and those within the industry.

A good link is the following, quite often I pick up a novel and fail to read, all the way through.

I'm excited to get to know everyone and share some good books together!

message 1081: by Guy Vestal (new)

Guy Vestal - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) Greetings...

My name is Guy Robert Vestal. I am a single Father who has raised 8 Daughters alone our entire lives. I have four elementary school aged girls still left at home.

I just recently got back to reading and writing. I love to review books, but sadly enough, I am too old school to abandon ink and paper, ergo I own no e reader. Sorry. LOL

message 1082: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Oconnor | 2 comments Hi I'm Nancy. I'm 51 years old with 2 grown children. I've been married for 25 wonderful years and I'm from Indiana. I read many types of books but really have favorites. I just enjoy reading and getting lost in the stories as a way to relax and unwind from my day. I don't read very fast so I get frustrated with a book club a friend asked me to join-it seems every other day they are all finishing another book. I like to take my time and get to know the characters.
I am looking forward to finding new authors to read and talking to people about books I have read.

message 1083: by Galaxy Press (new)

Galaxy Press (goodreadscomgalaxypress) | 4 comments Hey guys, my name is Cat and I'm born and raised in Hollywood, CA. I work at Galaxy Press, and I'm in love with anything sci fi, classic sci fi, space opera, as well as vintage pulp fiction. I also love swing dance, fencing and Star Wars.

Favorite books RIGHT NOW (as this is an ever-changing thing) are Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, Dune, The Kingslayer: Seven Steps to the Arbiter and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.

Favorite movies would have to be Star Wars, the newest Star Treks, Blade Runner, Contact, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing and all of Robert Rodriguez' films.

Favorite song is whatever is currently playing. Not kidding. Right now? Hozier's "From Eden".

Interesting facts? As a kid I went from seamstress, to irish dancer, to astronomer, to drummer, to house painter, to director, to receptionist, and it went like this through to today.

♥,
Cat at Galaxy Press

message 1086: by Ross (new)

Ross | 1 comments Hi, my name is Ross. But you can call me Ross.

I'm from Dublin, Ireland.

I like Fantasy, especially Epic Fantasy, so if anyone has any suggestions, feel free! My favorite authors would have to be George RR Martin, Robin Hobb and George Orwell. I am also hugely interested in History, Middle Ages, Renaissance and Revolutionary. I watch House of Cards, GOT, and Suits regularly. I am open to all fiction though, I do not discriminate when it comes to reading. I also play games on PS4.

I hate romance, especially romance for the sake of romance. I do not mind it when it gels with the over arching theme, but a novel dedicated to romance is not for me. I always want a book with a definitive beginning, middle and end, I cannot stand useless sequel bating.

I do not have a favorite book of all time, but there are some I value amongst the highest. Of course LOTR, but there is also ASOIAF, The Farseer Trilogy, The Bonfire of the Vanities, Fevre Dream, The Great Gatsby, Animal Farm and Dune.

Thanks for a reading, and I look forward to talking to you all shortly. Feel free to add me as a friend!

Persepolis, Bullet In A Bible, and Gone Girl.

Favorite music is anything from Punk to Jazz. But if I like a song, I like a song, regardless of genre.
