Forgive me If I vanish mid conversation - I'm not being rude, I..."
Morning Laurel! I'm aiming for the end of July to publish BABY SNATCHERS.
If it's as well received as STEALING POWER I'll be a very happy bunny :)

Thanks Laurel! Happy reading!

Thanks Laurel! Happy reading!"
You are welcome. Thanks for friending me! Easy to keep track of your progress on your new book that way! Look forward to exchanging book suggestions etc!

Thanks for the welcome - still finding my way around on here - give me time - I'll get used to it lol!

Also, I saw a post somewhere on the group about how a ferret should be our "mascot". I completely agree, I've had ferrets my whole life and they're adorable, amazing pets!(:

I loved the Great Gatsby movie too. In fact, this is the first time I thought the movie was better than the book. I was never that much of a fan of Leonardo Di Caprio, but I thought he was perfect in that role.

I forgot to add that one of my absolute favourite books is The Great Gatsby as well. I've not seen the movie yet, since I always think the film is never going to match up to the book, but it looks very interesting.
And good choice of music as well, what did you think of the xx's contribution to the Gatsby soundtrack?

I have three children, 2 in university and 1 just starting high school.
I collect and sell vintage items and am a confessed auction junkie.
I love too many books to pick a favorite, so I'll share my most read -- The Secret History by Donna Tartt.
It's just one of those books I pick up when there is nothing else available. It never gets old.
I've purchased the Kindle version of The Night Circus and am eager to get started. Nice to meet you all! :-)

I read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand last summer. While I am not the biggest fan of nonfiction, I found this story very moving. It follows the life of Louis Zamperini, during WWII, as he is stranded at sea then forced to live as a POW.
Also Night by Eli Weisel is a very powerful Holocaust novel.

Favourtites -at the moment:
Books:
Lonesome Dove by Larry Mc Murtry his writing's so good that you don't even notice it.
Beloved by Toni Morrison. Her writing's so good you definitely notice it.
Movies: anything by Pedro Almodovar and Quintain Tarantino
T.V.:
Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Nashville,Modern Family, Graham Norton.
Love to travel.

(just kidding) Welcome!

I'm currently in school studying graphic design and advertising. I love to travel, and I just recently returned to the USA after studying abroad in Europe for four months. I'm addicted to Cheese-itz and Diet Coke and have an extremely soft, ushy gushy spot for elephants. Diana Wynne Jones is my favorite author, and Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite of her books (I try to re-read it every year!).

My musical tastes are as eclectic as my reading tastes. Currently my favorite song is "Death Come Near Me" by Draconian.
Fun facts about me: I'm a belly dancer, a beader, a Rennie and I'm a veterinary technology student.

I read all the time, mostly a few novels at a time. I almost only read fiction and I am rather bad at finishing novels I find uninteresting or boring.
I don´t like horror or macabre crime novels. If I read crime novels there should be more puzzles than blood, like in novels by Håkan Nesser.
I love dystopian novels, fantasy, historical novels etc. Right now I am reading The Buddha in the Attic, The Book Thief and And the mountains echoed.
I have three small kids (6, 3, almost 1).
I have written too much as usual...sorry!

Not at all! Welcome! I live near Toronto, Ontario, in Canada. I am a retired teacher. I am sure you will find lots of interesting books to read here on GR. Add some friends, join a group you think you might like or start a challenge. Most people are great about helping you, and usually love to talk about books. Enjoy your vacation!
Hi, Hedvig. Great to meet you and welcome to the group.:)

It is also available on iTunes, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble.com
Personally I really enjoy reading Terry Pratchett's Disc World series. I also enjoy Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, The Warriors (yes, one about the cats). I also love Game of Thrones, the Anita Blake series, and books by LJ Smith (especially the Forbidden Game trilogy cause it reminded of the Labyrinth and and we all know how hot David Bowie is.) I do not like Twilight. I drew a comic with cats expressing my extreme dislike-- www.phantomblush.com
Anywhos...I love to chat about books, cartoons, cats, Ru Paul, and Gordon Ramsay.
Thanks
Priscilla K.
(btw I just wrote a ridiculous amount and Goodreads says I have over 10000 characters left...I shall have to try harder.
