Hi! My name is James, and I live outside of Philly. I don’t have a specific favorite book, but my favorite genres are historical fiction and war novels. Some of my favorite authors include Jeff Shaara, and I also am a fan of Dostoevsky. I travel frequently, and am fluent in multiple languages (French, Russian, Latin, German, and obviously English). I am in the process of writing my first book, and I hope to have it finished by January.

Oooh, hope your book's going well! I wish I had a longer concentration span so I could stick to writing long enough to write a book.

What is your book about??

It follows the daily life and mental deterioration of several soldiers fighting in an imaginary conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I know, a bit obscure. But it’s something I’m passionate about, and I am writing it more for my own enjoyment than to make money or anything. :)

R. that book sounds interesting to me... in my history courses the troubles in Armenia are always glossed over... I love reading books that are about genocides/wars that I'm not very familiar with. I've just read a book about the Russian/Chechen war... loved it because it felt... new? Hopefully your passion will bleed into your writing and you will find yourself sitting on a bestseller!

I would never presume!!! In spite of teaching English, I also have a love of salty language. It comes from my Nova Scotian roots so you have nothing to worry about.
Hi my name is Faith. I live in PA. I can honestly I do not have a definite dislike when it comes to reading genres, but I would probably have to most romance novels I try to avoid. However I seem to be reading tons of YA lately. I have recently found I enjoy dystopians, but have been disappointed in many besides The Hunger Game series. I am looking to find books that are more stimulating to the mind than the YA, however being a full time nursing student over the summer my mind does not mind the break :)
Hey Faith! I love dystopias but a few just repeat other stories, if you find any exceptional ones, let me know?!

Hello, my name is Dylan. I’m 17 years old and am originally from Minnesota, and now reside in Colorado. I absolutely love reading, specifically epic fantasy and psychological thrillers. If something is dark, disturbing, twisted, or just plain wrong, odds are that I’ll like it (I’m probably a little screwed up in the head). My favourite authors are Brandon Sanderson, Dean Koontz, Patrick Rothfuss, and Jacqueline Carey. Dean Koontz is the author that seriously got me into reading, so he’ll always hold a special place in my heart. My favourite song genres are rap and post grunge (whatever that is). My favourite song would be “Voices of the Voiceless” by Lowkey and Immortal Technique, both of which are amongst my top artists, Immortal Technique being number one. My favourite films and shows are The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Game of Thrones, and Dexter. My favourite authors are Sean Bean and Leonardo DiCaprio.
I guess that’s it. You may click on my profile if you, for whatever reason, desire to learn the tiniest more about me. However, I would advise against it, as I am quite an uninteresting individual. I joined this group because I already would check out posts in groups when I grew bored, so it made sense to join one, and this just happened to the one that caught my interest the most.

Hey I'm Georgianne and I'm also new to goodreads. However, I love to read so I believe I'm in the right place.I enjoy playing volleyball, and obviously, READING! I've read books from most genres so I don't have many dislikes. Some of my favorite books include Harry Potter (can't go wrong there), Percy Jackson, Legend, Divergent, Between the Lines, Across the Universe, The Giver, and I'd Tell You I Love You but Then I'd Have to Kill You etc. I could go on and on...
I'm a fan of action and romance movies, but a big believer that you should always read the book before you see the movie!
Hoping to find other book lovers like me, and some good books to read!

Hi David & Elizabeth, I'm a newcomer here too. Rest assured you're guaranteed a warm welcome :)Forgive me If I vanish mid conversation - I'm not being rude, I have an internet restricter running on my system so I can concentrate on my next book. Unfortunately, it just creeps up on me and boots me in the behind!
Thank you all. Great to be here!

Hi there Laurel, yes, 'Stealing Power' is the first in a trilogy. It's a gritty Psychological Crime Thriller :)
Hi, I'm Rob from Ontario, Canada. I made a New Years resolution to read more books and it's the only one I've ever kept. I enjoy non fiction, so if anyone has any recommendations let me know. Take care! Brush your hair!

You've kept one more New Year's resolution than me Rob!
Hi everyone. My name is Brenda and I'm from Yorkshire (England). I'm new to Goodreads and this group appealed to me. I'm happily retired and a writer. I also paint and make jewellery (when time allows - sadly, not enough hours in the day for me!) I like films, all types of music and I enjoy reading, of course. I'm looking forward to following all the discussions on here.
