To what?

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 148 comments My book is tagged as fantasy, which is correct but I would like it tagged as fantasy romance as well.

The tags on books (usually called genres or shelves on GR) are created by the Goodreads users who add a book to their shelves. The names of the most popular shelves are used as genres for that book. We exclude "to read" "read" "currently-reading" and so on but pretty much enything else is OK.

These are the shelves for your book.

There is no way to change, remove, or add, these genres.

Well, you can add to them by creating your own genre shelves and putting the book on those shelves. It won't show up as a book genre until more than one person has shelved it that way, but it'll get things started.

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 148 comments Ah ok, I can add it to my romance shelf, funny I thought I had.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments You can add to more than just romance, so could be helpful to browsing readers to see "romance" but also shelves/genres/tags like "contemporary romance" "historical romance" etc.

I'm not 100% sure how the algorithm works, but the book has to be shelved multiple times as a specific genre before it will show up on the book page.

If you click "see top shelves" under the list of genres you can see that 1 person (which happens to be you) has shelved the book as Romance - but until other people do, this will not translate to the genre list.

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 148 comments Ok. Well hopefully other people might. That answers my question at least:)
